Is there still money in "gaming" sites?
Doing reviews, selling kids PS2 games etc?
Back in the day they used to do alright. Is there still money in it? |
Interesting question. I've always wondered what gaming sites like gamespot.com & co pull in?
|
Well I had friends that started squaresoft gaming sites and made good commissions from affiliate programs.

GameSpot, IGN.com Etc etc are all owned by large companies who run a bunch of different sites. GameSpot is owned by CNET, the GameSpot site is actually kind of an after thought. I honestly dont know how much money there is to make in that biz, it costs alot because you have to hire writers, design staff, etc etc..
My grand plan was to develop a game review / porn site.. All in one.. It would be like a portal where guys can go for their homepage, would have news, weather, stocks, games, porn. All in 1 place. Bigger than ebay, i tell you.. ;-) BMF |
MarcDe, owns a gaming site... ask him :)

if you're looking for an X-Box name I have PandorasXbox.com
for the UBI game LOCK-ON.COM and the .net |
I miss gamecenter.com (was bought by gamespot)
But I like the Rottentomatoes of the gaming industry http://www.gametab.com/ About the question, I think that the game review market is quite saturated. Unless you come up with a very refreshing and original idea. |
