Venetian Hotel Sucks.. Should Boycott InterNext!

Just my 2 cents.. but the January show should
be moved to Mandalay Bay or something that
is nicer.

Venetian rooms suck, only some of them have
high speed connections and their own staff is
lazy!

Alot of problems with D$ and his show there a
year back as well.

Just my observations from attending 5 shows
in a row there.

How about Paris Hotel? I had my wedding reception there less than 3 weeks ago.

pornguy 07-07-2004 08:01 PM

chowda 07-07-2004 08:02 PM

Ask around, alot of complaints about it.

There are nicer hotels then the Venetian.

In fact, Luxor Suites or Mandalay Suites are
alot nicer.

Brad Mitchell 07-07-2004 08:47 PM

I am totally and completely burned out on the Venetian.

There is a new expo that is bigger and nicer attached to the Mirage, I think.

I like the finer things but I can't say that I even enjoy the Venetian anymore. Last Internext I spent 5 days inside the hotel without leaving, that was the icing on the cake.

:(

chowda 07-07-2004 08:48 PM

dont forget, the other big show is in vegas the same time..

Brad,

I know what you mean.

This year, I will stay nearby but not at the Venetian. The
rooms are not very nice and over priced for what you
actually get.

I told AVN that I will never exhibit again as long as
they hold the shows at the Sands Expo Center.

I travel to Vegas alot, there are alot of nice places!

Lane 07-07-2004 11:07 PM

I wanted to stay there once, they gave me a lot of shit because i was under 21.. And their attitude sucks.

They also overcharged my mom when she was there.

Stay at Treasure Island instead. Much better deals too.

wargames 07-07-2004 11:11 PM

Plus they shave on the tables i couldnt win one hand at the venetian. Every other hotel i went to during the show i kicked ass at. I think the move to another casino would be good. :2 cents:

GTS Mark 07-07-2004 11:12 PM

A change in venue might be nice.

However I don't think this will happen anytime soon...

You have to book the Internet connection with the room, otherwise you are shit out of luck.

As for the staff, I am not the most demanding person on the planet, if I can find the ice machine, the valet doesn't slap on 100 miles on my car while I'm gone, and my bags are unmolested by the staff, I am a happy camper. :thumbsup

FreeOnes 07-08-2004 01:39 AM

The Venetian is not that bad, but why always have the expo in the same hotel when there are 10 alternative hotels? I think it's more nice to do it in another hotel each year. :2 cents:

I couldn't agree more! Our room was sweet, the room service rocked and when I sprained my ankle on the last day, they sent a paramedic to me at no cost to wrap it up and make sure I didn't break it.

I have to RE-agree too :thumbsup

There is no other place in Vegas at this period where you can have both Internext and AVN shows back to back...

Don't forget that you also have the CES (Consumer Electronic Show) running at the same time and they already take lots of cenvention space (LV Convention Center, Hilton, some at the Sahara I think)

Plus to Venetian is actually the most upscale hotel in Vegas, and you're right in the middle of the strip, so wherever you want to go, you are not so far. ..:2 cents:

Yes, the Mandalay Bay is a great hotel but I think it is too far from all the hot spots, this is the farest hotel on the strip and the luxor can not receive the 2 shows (not enough convention space), Same thing with the Palms and the Rio, too far from the rest IMHO :)

I look forward to see "Le Reve" the new complex the Wynns brothers are building beside the Venetian, on the other side of Sands blvd.. Maybe this one will be able to host 2 such big shows, and at worst they are just in front of the Sand convention center...

These were my 2 canadian :2 cents" :)

See ya in Hollywood :thumbsup

Peaches 07-23-2004 12:34 PM

For the price, nothing beats the Venetian IMHO. Those rooms are HUGE for $170. :)

And of course, if you order toast for breakfast, they bring the toaster and toast it there so it's still warm for your butter :thumbsup

Basic_man 07-23-2004 12:43 PM

Why do you stay at this hotel? There are plenty more to choose from!

I do like the rooms at the Venetian and the room service.

In all fairness to the Venetian, my issues were 95% with the people who leased the building attached to the Venetian, C2K, their theater. It was their management that totally disregarded our plans to let all guests enter in an organized and speedy manner. I didn't use C2K last year because of their fuck ups year after year. I'd consider using C2K again if they can prove it's under different ownership and management.

There will be a Players Ball January 5th, 2005 in Las Vegas, not as an Internext party, just an adult industry and mainstream event. Venue to be announced.

Stay suited and booted...

Get your pimp suits out of that closet or go shopping, it's going to be a mandatory dress code this time around.

D-Money 07-23-2004 01:09 PM

Players Ball January 6, 2005 is the correct date of the Ball, I typed the wrong date in that last post.

next time break down and get a suite - oh and there is a motel8 hotel and casino a block away

rockbear 07-23-2004 01:36 PM

Go for Treasure Island. High speed connection and the rooms are really nice.

Jace 07-23-2004 01:38 PM

we love to go cheap when we go to vegas, that way we can afford to party more...we keep a tight budget...and like to stick to it (but that never happens)....there is a hotel directly in front of the venetian, righ to the right if your looking straight on...it is $49 a night even in peak times...and the rooms really aren't that bad...comparable to a motel6

they don't have high speed, but with wireless built into my laptop, there is almost always somewhere in vegas that has wifi

yeah but no frig in the rooms - that sucks

SinisterStudios 07-23-2004 01:48 PM

I have no idea what you guys are talking about, our suite last year at the Venetian was awesome. The staff was fantastic, the conceriege was able to get us reservations at alot of the best restarants at the last minute, and when they couldnt get us into the restarants in the venetion they called all around until they found us a reservation for whatever we wanted. Spend the extra money and get a big suite and youll never regret it, Plus i won $3600 at the craps table to boot.

I think the key is "big suite" they got the $170 room - while called a suite they are nice but not big suite nice
