i would rather have a different choice for president but out of the 2 choices we have 51% of my brain wants Kerry & 49% for Bush, so I could change my decision possibly

How was your adult business affected in the previous 4 years out of curiosity?

tyler86ed 07-07-2004 11:37 AM

I believe theses results may be slightly skewed as most adult webmasters, stand towards the left. Should be an interesting vote though.

So far the effect on our business have not come so much from government regulation, but rather from Visa/mstcd, and more savy porn surfers

But the regs are coming and for that we are all probably better of with the Democrats:2 cents:

I honestly can't wait for the real campaigning to begin. I think Kerry's choice of John Edwards for VP is fantastic. He's very charasmatic and has the ability to connect with real people, not just the fat cat elitists that Bush terms "his base."
And when Edwards and Cheney have their debate, it won't even be close. Edwards is a far more accomplished orator than Cheney. You may have to actually see if Mr. Haliburton is actually still breathing.
What really cracks me up is the Republican response after the announcement was made. The term I keep hearing repeated over and over is liberal, like being a liberal is akin to having a disease or something.
Neither person on the Democratic ticket is a true liberal, though each man has some liberal ideas and messages. But even if both of them were true left wing liberals, I'd take that any day over lying, deceitful, election tampering, bordering on criminal right wing destroyers of the economy, personal freedoms and a number of other items too long to list.
Time to take out the trash.:winkwink:

And where do you think the pressure on the credit card companies came from? Did you ever hear of the connection between the credit card companies putting the squeeze on porn in turn so the government would make it more difficult to file for bankruptcy, in effect allowing credit card companies to lessen their loses?

pussyluver 07-07-2004 11:47 AM

Four months of this before the elections. It will be close and their will be mud all over the place.

Webmasters care about biz, but some will be caught up on tax issues and then there is the whole thing with the war on terrorism. If you worried about buildings blowing up, maybe the Bush hardline will look more important.

In case you are directing your question at me, i will answer... it is not about the past 4 years- it is about the 4 years to come. It is NO secret that Buch has made his agenda geared towards our industry in the coming years (that is if our country is shot out enough to vote him back).
Besides that very important point... i am also concerned about bringing back a coward who stands before the country he "leads" and flat out lies about classified information. Lies and deceit.. just not what i look for in my leader, imagine that.

What difference does it make what I earn? Unlike most Republicans who have a narrow point of view and the what's in it for me and my best interest mentality, I like to think about the overall.
And I'm aware of where I live and the joke it was in the 2000 election. Please remember, however, who is in our governor's seat.
By the way, I'm doing just fine financially, but thanks for your concern.

GoodChris 07-07-2004 11:58 AM

Of course they do, everyone does. But it's the attitude that upsets me about the current administration. It's all about how they are better and smarter and more informed than us, but we don't need to know details or facts or anything. We're just supposed to pack up our sons and daughters and ship them off to a part of the world most of us have only heard about on the news to fight for something none of us completely understand.

Are we there for oil? If so, why am I getting ass raped every time I fill up my car at the gas station?

Are we there for the Iraqui people? If so, why are they STILL without power and water in many areas since the first bombings a YEAR ago?

Are we there to get Sadam because he tried to kill Bush Sr? Great! Let's hand him over and get the fuck out of there!

I've been willing to work with this administration to reach goals that need to be met, but this bullshit with "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain! I am the great and powerful Oz.. er.. I mean Bush.." is out of control. What's that Judge Judy quote? Don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining? No shit!

And, my big beef of the moment... There should be an end to all "no bid" contracts IMMEDIATELY. If Halliburton wins a bid fairly, then great. Otherwise, let someone else have a piece of the pie over there.

In case you are forgetting, Both parties are against the adult industry, and ummm, err.......... Kerry wants to take another 30 percent of your income and give it to the people who dont work at all.

Neither party can do anything to the industry except shake out the wannabees. The only thing legislation can do is make it harder for adult products to be obtained by minors on the internet or in the general public. This makes the real porn sites more valueable and most of the guys here will realize increased profits.

Why would people think that kerry is for the adult industry? Kerry's traditional ideas are to take away the profit margins in all industries to make the class system run smoother.

President Bush is for small business, he is better for the serious webmaster than Kerry, sorros, or H. Clinton.

I'll put my small business eduction, experience and knowledge against anyone.

How do you not understand economics?

Small businesses are owned by the people. Democrats want to increase taxes on people. People who pay more taxes have less money to run their small business.

Democrats want more legislation in business
Republicans want less legislation in business

Democrats think the economy is improved by heavily regulating industry.
Republicans think the economy is improved by competition in the private market.

When profits rise, employment rises.
When hand outs occur, employment lessens

If someone is working and making $25,000 a year and getting health insurance that is exactly what they are working for.

If you provide and alternative social income and social healthcare worth 20,000 a year then that person is not just working for $5,000 a year. That gives them less incentive to produce.

That's what I hear "Them" say all the time, but I don't see it. Whenever a Dem is in office my lifestyle and business improve. Republican in office = more regulation and more taxes and more bullshit = decreases in my business and personal lifestyle.

I'd love to vote for a republican who will really reduce taxes and help small business. So far that hasn't happened and I've been doing this small business thing since Reagan.

I cant speak for you specific situation or tax bracket but you dont have to listen to long to the democrat candidates on the national level to say that President Bush cut taxes for everyone. Their arguement is that he should have given the same tax cuts to the rich people that everyone else got.

Listen to Hillary talk, she is one of the only democrats that will come out and say that she would raise taxes.

Most leave it for a read between the lines type of thing. The social programs proposed by kerry would require an enormous tax burden on all U.S. citizens, not just the rich.

The irony is that the democrats say Bush is to liberal with his social spending in the same sentence they say he shouldn't have cut taxes.

Socialized medicine is the worst idea ever. I agree that costs are getting out of hand but I can tell you how that is going to change. Ask me later.

Profits in the private healthcare industry are the reason for the advanced rate of innovation that leads to good quality healthcare and disease cure, etc....

Companies are litterally racing to compete in markets for healthcare profits which means that they spend more money and time on research.
