Who else here uses FireFox web browser.

Today, after my LAST horrible experience with IE, I decided to try FireFox.

So far so good.
Easy to use AND it transfers bookmarks and passwords.

Anybody else use it?

Aric 07-06-2004 07:07 PM

I do.

It's quirky. Earlier today, it would open links from a frame (with an obvious proper target frame) in the parent... gay.

There's other quirks.. but keeping mind it's still under 1.0 in terms of version.. it's a good alternative :)

mardigras 07-06-2004 07:09 PM

As a webmaster it's hard to stray away from IE as probably 90% of the available market is using it. :glugglug

Basic_man 07-06-2004 07:09 PM

I use Firefox :thumbsup

EviLGuY 07-06-2004 07:11 PM

I have been using this exclusively for months and months now. I generally use IE on my 1024x768 screen laptop, so I can make sure the sites I build look alright, but other than that.. no IE for me. :)

EviLGuY 07-06-2004 07:12 PM

Texturizer? Get it from the source...

Paul Waters 07-06-2004 07:12 PM

www.mozilla.org

I have been using it for two months, and love it.

Still use IE to test web sites I have built, but firefox displays errors as errors, so I see and fix them.

IE tries to correct errors.

And is a big error imho

Fabuleux 07-06-2004 07:12 PM

It's a little slow and sometimes I can't click the links. But it's better than spyware on your system...

TurboTrucker 07-06-2004 07:14 PM

It's ok, not all pages display right and it's slower than IE, but it has 'paste and go' , mouse gestures, and a good password manager. If IE had those it would be better.

QuaWee 07-06-2004 07:19 PM

just dl it 2 days ago and it fuckin owns

IPK 07-06-2004 07:26 PM

I use it every once in a while. I still mostly use IE. Bad habits are hard to kill.

iwantchixx 07-06-2004 07:29 PM

Give Opera a try. Give it a whole day and you'll never stray way.

I install it on every Windows system I sit down at... can't use IE anymore.

Between tabs and middle-clicking links to open them in new windows (or tabs), it makes getting work done so much faster.

I could NEVER go back to a non-tabbed browser

candyflip 07-06-2004 07:46 PM

There are some great plug-ins and extentions. I use the BBCode ext all the time here.

KRL 07-06-2004 07:50 PM

Firefox is nice, but Opera is even cooler.

RandomNinja 07-06-2004 08:01 PM

Firefox is great! It's not perfect, but it's always improving.

gornyhuy 07-06-2004 08:06 PM

Sigh.

MarkTiarra 07-06-2004 08:06 PM

If you like tabbed browsing and want to keep IE then look at:

I've been using Firefox for about a year and a half now (firefox is actually the third name of the browser since I started using it.) For a while I would use it occasionally, and ever since I've been using it exclusively. I didn't install Flash for firefox -- it makes casual browsing even better. If there is a site that has flash or won't render right I load IE. Microsoft is going to seriously need to get its shit together for me to go back to IE again (yes there was a day when Netscape was far superior than IE.)

Marcus Aurelius 07-06-2004 08:17 PM

I use it. its quirky but still worth using.

AliciaK 07-06-2004 08:23 PM

I use it and like it.

no need to build pages around anything. Just code properly to begin with and it will read everything fine.

I dont like the way it scrolls, not too easy on the eyes when you are reading the board.

I use it. Good stuff :thumbsup

Murderous 07-06-2004 11:46 PM

I love being able to right click on a link and view "properties" also... I can highlight a selected part of a web page, right click and "view selection source" to see the source code of just that part instead of searching through a 50k file of code.

I also like being able to highlight and "web serach for"

Bottom line, it kicks IE's ASS!!!

Murderous

AMADude 07-07-2004 12:02 AM

I am using it to type this. Yes, I like it lots.
:thumbsup
