Never really flossed until I ended up working at a dental office. Its amazing how easy people can lose their teeth though they brush their teeth daily.

I just did yesterday actually- for the first time in months and yes there was blood...
Every time I go to the dentist, he always tells me to floss and I do it for maybe a week, but then just forget about it.

wdsguy 07-06-2004 05:25 PM

yep if u keep doing it, it will make your gums stronger and the bleeding will stop

Firehorse 07-07-2004 01:23 AM

I floss, brush, and use mouth wash every day. :thumbsup

Jason Fromm 07-07-2004 01:55 AM

Just try and set aside the same time each day to do it...I make a point to do it after I brush my teeth in the evening. I have been doing it for about two years on a regular basis, and my teeth/gums feel great! But for the first couple weeks...I thought I would bleed to death.

adamneve 07-07-2004 02:03 AM

All you need is motivation :)

A guy on Oprah said flossing takes on average 7 years off your age (at 60) and was the #1 factor for looking and feeling younger.

Besides the obvious benefits (keeping your teeth lol), it also reduces the risk of all sorts of heart conditions because the bacteria that causes them can be flossed away.

Chew on that pieace of info :)

BlackCrayon 07-07-2004 10:27 AM

every single day! if you don't floss regularly eventually you're gonna get gum disease.

Big Cheese 07-07-2004 10:34 AM

Last time I flossed was after eating ribs about a week ago :)

Gianna_CECash 07-07-2004 10:38 AM

I floss every evening. Going to bed without flossing, or kissing a woman who hasn't, yuck!

If you need a pointer, consider this, anyone who does not floss regularly has rank breath from roting food particles in the gums. It might be subtle and it might be overwhelming, but you stink from rotting cheeseburgers you ate last year.

I would think that would be enough motivation for most.
