Fucking budget charged me 620 bucks
So i rented a car 2 months ago, buddy of mine crashes it.
So ofcourse investigation is started about whos gotta pay what. Budget told me it might take a while, which is normal when dealing with several companies. They would let me know when new info is available. 2 days ago i found out they charged my cc for 620 bucks. I go to their office and ask whats up with that. I was told the investigation isnt finished or anything, they just charged me this to be safe on their side as she called it. Basically just getting money upfront in case im gonna run or something. Without them knowing anything about the damage, without informing or asking me they simply charge my fucking card. I call them asking for a refund. No can do. I call Mastercard for a cb. No can do. So basically you can be a porn surfer, sign up for a site, rip the member area apart and cb your 25 bucks 2 months later, that is no problem and can be done in 2 mins. But non valid charges by a company based on nothing, without informing, without asking, those cant be refunded or charged back. Fuck im pissed. |

Probably says it's ok for them to charge your card somewhere in that contract you signed when renting the car, you know, in all that fine print.

dude fill out the paperwork. your cc doesent want to lose you. you are the hand thats feeding them.
last year i went to ny and stayed 4 days. well the place i was staying at charged me for 5 days. i ended up having to go through that same shit u got right now. in the long run not only did visa not pay them for the extra night, the talked the manager into giving them a reduced rate for the time i was there. so instead of spending the 800 i thought i was going to spend, or the 1k they wanted me to spend, visa worked it out where i ended up spending 675. i thought that was pretty cool, so im sharing with u. |
Thats why i use and recommend the
"Amex Corporate Gold Card " :Graucho |

Rental car agencies have been exposed for doing this on a few of those "investigative" TV shows.
Report the charge to your state att. gen. or something. They do it to people all the time, even with no accidents. Quote one thing, charge you more. It's common. |

Just an FYI, the credit card companies make a LOT more off a company like Budget than they do from one of us :winkwink:
Read your rental car contract and see what it says. If they charged you in accordance to your contract, the CC company won't do squat. But if they are charging you for something you NEVER agreed to, then you have a case :) |
Thats the moment when you take a baseball bat and go play arround with their cars
|
They are probably getting a back hander of budget ;)
|
Yeah, that's why they don't let you rent a car unless they have your CC - no matter how much you have in cash or in the bank.
Because they can fuck with your CC and laugh all the way to the bank... bastards! |

Last month I had a problem with my car rental service, too. I got billed but they forgot to delete the reservation for a car damage with my CC. (I don't had an accident.) And, useless to say, this reservation was made twice. Over 700 Euro were blocked on my card. I called my bank, they told me that the car rental service has to delete the reservation. I called the car rental company, they told me that I have to call my bank about this issue or I have to wait 30 days, after this time the money reservation would be deleted in the system automatically.
What's up with this companies? I gave the car back with no damage but they block the money for 30 days? I can feel with you, Battuss. Maybe it is harder to do a chargeback here in Europe than in the U.S. |
thats shit! sorry about that dude
