Traffic Tip of the Day: Traffic from User pages

Disclaimer: Please follow the named sites' TOS/AUPs while at their sites.

There's a lot of heavy traffic websites on the net that allow their users to create USER pages and guestbooks. Some of these sites allow HTML on the guestbooks. The more specific the community, the higher the traffic to the guestbooks.

1) Most of these guestbooks employs the same form fields.

2) Most of these sites comprise of people looking for dates

3) Most of these sites use popups on their entry pages (logon pages)

4) All member signup pages use the same standard fields.

Case study: http://www.blackplanet.com

http://www.asianavenue.com

http://www.migente.com

Sample member page and guestbook: (Look at the ads on the guestbook at http://members.blackplanet.com/bobbeon -- click guestbook then notice the ads to iFriends)

Just pointing out another way to get volume and highly qualified traffic.

There's tons more out there as well.

LOL. Hilarious. .... An observation: if it allows clicking and its distributed and has heavy traffic, it is a potential traffic source.

don't forget to setup an autoresponder for the complaint mails, you may sqeeze some extra $$$ out of that.

maybe a troyan toolbar attachment would come in handy aswell?

I will think about it. By the way, is this a form of spam? Is it legal?

Judging from the iFriends/ClickCash ads on that sample page I guess it is.

I wonder if this will boost up my CC ratio from 1:200 to 1:20

johnbosh 07-13-2004 03:02 AM

isn't this spam

Do you guys do custom research and traffic feasibility studies? I have a shitload of hunches and need to test the traffic before investing in software.

emthree 07-14-2004 01:52 AM

gmail does not like you, for some reason your sample articles I asked for ended up in my spam folder. I noticed this today, will have to take a look at the samples tommorrow. I guess it picked up on some target words (penis, sex)

pure energy 07-14-2004 09:16 PM

Are there any more tutorials like this?

Friendster iFriends traffic is supposed to be converting in 1995-1996 type ratios. Kudos to the guys who figured it out.
