Post in this thread if you have ever been so fucking poor

That there's not a moment that goes by that you don't appreciate everything you have and have worked hard for.

In addition, you know better than to judge others as it's not easy to realize your dreams.

No kidding...right after grad school, I couldn't get a job AT ALL. I was living in the KC area, and there was nothing I qualified for and everything that there was, I was over qualified for. Dark times...I now value everything I have...I'm talking super poor; no money for gas in the car, rent for the apartment, food in the fridge and what was funny, is that I had a Master's Degree!!!

twistyneck 07-06-2004 12:54 AM

Been there, done that, never again. We had a lot of tough times.

Fucksakes 07-06-2004 12:54 AM

I stole a newspaper box and hack the damn thing for 5 bucks in change, just one small example of my being really poor days. many many years ago. and I was young

Chris 07-06-2004 01:01 AM

been thru walking thru arcades looking for quaters in machines for packs of ramen at the store

many times

I think of those days everyday as I put up a nest egg for money

MiSsBeHeaDReSs 07-06-2004 01:04 AM

Absolutely. I am grateful every day for all I have. I know what its like to be hungry.

fr8 07-06-2004 01:45 AM

I think its good from someone to have to go through a tough time. I know I have been through my fair share. It not only gives character but keeps them on ground level with life. Ive seen so many rich ass dumbasses that dont seem to give two shits about people and think everything should be handed to them. Fuck that shit.

If your in a current hard time. Keep your head up. Things will be better in the end.

Jakke PNG 07-06-2004 01:46 AM

I was born with a silverspoon in my ass.

baddog 07-06-2004 01:48 AM

well, since I have always had a job since I was in the 6th grade, or else enough savings to get by when I was unemployed, I guess I should not post in this thread

johnbosh 07-06-2004 01:48 AM

when I was fro mschool

wdsguy 07-06-2004 01:50 AM

single mom

2 kids, she worked 2 jobs with little sleep just to put food on the table and barely had enough money to catch the bus to work, let alone get lunch

older sister practically raised me

i remember being little and having to go to the store and buy something like a piece of candy with a fucking food stamp so that i could get change for the bus for school

shit was hard, i'm only 23 but now i've got my own house out here in vegas now and i'm workin on paying all of her debt so she can retire a little early... she deserves it

gotta love ur mom :thumbsup

WicKed NinJas 07-06-2004 02:31 AM

you gotta remind yourself of those times everyday so you dont forget just what your working for..TO NEVER BE IN THAT POSITION AGAIN! I hated eatng Ramen and mac & cheese everyday.

Lykos 07-06-2004 02:35 AM

When we are there...
In NATO Boombing of Yugoslavia back in 99' my small town CUPRIJA was boombed.....My familly was rich at that time...but in 30 seconds...we lost our 700cm3 big house...lost our 3 cars....lost fucking everything...A Tomahawk missed the militarry and hited directly in my backyard....So what to tell then??
Was a richy 15 years old child..and then stayed without anything...
In 2000 starting to work on internet...from my friend's computer(didn't even had mine)....started with tgp....now i am doing content...
In only 4 years i made a new house..everything's new...live a nice life..still paying debts i have...but i am 20 years old and very satisfed now..but couple months after boombing was the worse in my life...but i think god looked at me and give me a chance to make things right..and i am thankfull for that chance i got..
much more to talk about it..but one thing is important..never gave up,just keep fighting like i did.and things are always nicer at the end!
Cheers:glugglug

I grew up with lots of love and not a lot of money. I appreciated that my Mum went without many things to provide for my brother and I.

I made sure when I was 10 that I started contributing financially and I have worked hard ever since and been very grateful for every opportunity! :thumbsup

TweetyBird 07-06-2004 04:24 AM

cheer up, things can only get better :glugglug

ahh they aren't so bad
I am pretty poor ($1000 a month for everything) but not broke as I could be so I am happy for that. I live off corndogs, pasta, or dollar menus though most nights :)

FilthyRob 07-06-2004 10:15 AM

I grew up really poor, in fact, I was dirt poor until 1998 when i started making money from the internet. Still have 2 jobs though, so I think I am still poor in a way.

CumSensei 07-06-2004 10:16 AM

UnclePecker 07-06-2004 10:31 AM

The neighborhood I first lived in was so poor I actually had a woman come to my door late at night wanting to borrow a light bulb. She was holding a baby and said she had just shot her last bulb.

Makingcoin 07-06-2004 10:33 AM

At University I was a straving student. Now life is peachy.
