Why do sponsors.....?
 

Why do sponsors not allow their banners to be hotlinked?
They offer hosted galleries, but insist that you host their banners yourself- seems kinda petty to me. Is there a logical explanation that I'm missing?

probaly because spammers will hotlink it in their 50000000000 spam emails

A lot of programs host the banners

My point is that they all should.... It seems totally chintzy when they actually make a point of it in their t&c. Not to mention the ones who have them behind a protected area.

I just find it a pain when I go to add a quick link to someone, and have to take the extra steps to upload it to my server; particulatly when they're offering hosted galleries.

A lot of company's T&C's are living back in 1999 when bandwidth was 2-3 bucks a gig minimum.

Then new programs come out and.. "borrow" someone elses etc..
