Well done Greece, played Portugal off the park in defence and the home nation hardly got a shot on target all match. Greece 2-portugal 0 in matches as well, so there is absolutely no excuse.

I dont think so. We lost twice. They scored on a corner, they won. But the game they play is not the game I love, too bad we couldnt beat them.

Portugal were poor (especially the keeper for letting that corner in - where was he!!)

The Czeks (spelling) played the best football. Best game: Holland-Czeks 2-3. That 40 metre shot from Nedved on the crossbar was unbeleivable. How it swirled away from the keeper.

Defensively, the Greeks had the best team. Midfield and attack sucked somewhat.

so what? the result matters. greece also made some great attacks! its not like they played defensive today :)

Greece play the most boring football I have ever seen, its a shame they managed to win with 10 players in their own penalty box 90% of the time.

Sorry, I love football for many reasons, and it's only because I love it that results matter. If the game was always played like the greeks play it, noone would love it, and results would not matter.

Greece was able to capitalize on their chances, Portugal looked really frustrated.

it think it's brilliant, played very well defensive and was always back with players to defense against all the big stars. Greece made them play there worst game... again.

czech- holland was still the most fun game.

I wasnt upset when they won the first match, but I find it very sad that such a team won the Euro, any other team wouldnt bother me.

If everybody would play like Greece, the stadiums would be empty.

It's not only their ultra defensive style, but using fouls as a resource all the time to keep their opponents game form being fluent.

The also throw themselves to the ground at every chance trying to fool the referee to call fouls in their favor. I would not be surprised if they even practice that on their training :1orglaugh

Anyway they won because they outplayed everyone including the referees. So congrats.

And I'm not upset just because it was Portugal losing the final, it's because it was Portugal hosting the tournament and everything about it was amazing, except for the winner. That's what makes me sad.

If England, Checzs, Italia, Sweden, Holland, etc... were champions, I would probably be going out now to party with them.

I hope the same people complaining about Greece's 100% defensive style of play were also complaining about the Detroit Pistons' 100% gay style of play as well.....

Nobody does that as much as players from Porugal, Spain, Italy etc. They have many great football players with briliant technique and shouldn't have to do all that crappy "acting". It's more destructive to football than Greeces boringly defensive, but effective, football from this tournament.

czechs were my favorite team too.

In 98 france won the worldcup in similar style and in 2000 they became european champions exact the same way. germany made it into the 02 worldcup finals by having nothing but a strong defence. it's not the most attractive way to play the game, but the most successfull as the last years have shown.

Like their german coach said: It's hard for your opponents to win when they can't score against you.

I wish I had put a couple of bucks on them, congratulations Greece.
