X Men 3: No Halle? FANTASTIC FOUR MOVIE.... Will They Fuck It Up Or Make A Hit?

I'm a die-hard old time Fantastic Four fan. Problem is they haven't been interesting for almost 20 years. Now they're making a movie about them and am wondering if there are any fans left who care. Check out the cast of the new flick. Who are these people?

Handbag.com reports that Halle Berry will not be back for a third "X-Men" movie because her character, Storm, isn't going to be in it enough. According to their insider, "Halle was ready to do X-Men 3, but only if Storm was given more storyline, but the studio sees the third movie as a means to wrap up the trilogy, and that means Storm won't be featured more than Hugh Jackman's Wolverine. Halle has now passed on the third movie because she's not into bit-parts. She's an Oscar winner and she wants roles that test her". As a result, producers are now apparently looking to singer and actress Christina Milian as a possible replacement

In more solid news, Latino Review has learned that "Not Another Teen Movie" & "Cellular" star Chris Evans has been offered the role of Johnny Storm (aka. The Human Torch) in Fox's "The Fantastic Four". Tim Story wants Evans and that he loved him so much that he apparently offered him the role right there on the spot.

The final list now according to the most solid rumours seems to be Ioan Gruffodd ("Horatio Hornblower", "King Arthur") as Mr. Fantastic, Rachel McAdams ("The Notebook", "Mean Girls") as Susan Storm, Chris Evans as Johnny Storm, and Michael Chiklis (TV's "The Shield") as Ben Grimm. An official announcement is due any moment. "

Why do actors refuse roles if their not on screen enough ?

they still get paid, and maybe thats what the storyline needs - no need to be fussy

Hopefully next time she gets drunk she will drive off a cliff.

Relax Greg..........if they do a good enough job with it, the "Fantastic Four" movie will be huge. Women will flock to it if Mr. Fantastic stretches his cock out to oh say 40 or 50 feet.

Two of those guys I never heard of...

Rachel MacAdams is hot, just say Mean Girls last night, but as Sue Richards? hmmm....

Michael Chiklis is responsible for two of the worst portrayals in the history of filmdom... Curly in the Three Stooges t.v. movie. He did I fine job of making Jerome Horovitz the most boring person on the planet... and John Belushi in Wired. Between Chiklis, Ray Starkey and the entire concept of the film, this was the only movie that was so bad that I walked out 3/4 of the way through. Usually, if I walk out, it's 1/2 way through, and even then only twice.

Holy Shit...I would LOVE a Fantastic Four movie!!!

this is the comic-book movie I'm really curious about:

Quote:

Man-Thing, a mindless monstrosity that prowls the swamps. Left brainless except for the ability to sense emotion, Man-Thing acts like an emotional mirror, being calm and peaceful around those who are calm, and violent and dangerous around those who fear him. And whoever knows fear burns at the Man-Thing?s touch!

It looks as if whatever knows fear really will burn at the Man-Thing?s touch. The MPAA officially gave the big screen version of Marvel Comics? Man-Thing an R-rating.

Rated R for violence, grisly images, language, and some sexuality.

I got to give Artisan some credit for having the cajones to make an R-rated swamp monster movie based around a not all that popular third string comic book character, especially since the movie will have little in common with the premise of the comic. Now whether or not the movie version of Man-Thing is any good remains to be seen (and it may not make a dime at the box office), but I still have to give them credit for realizing you can't make a PG-13 movie about a monster that makes people incinerate. And it looks like we may even get some titty too!

Yo! "Man-Thing" was the SHIZZNIT!!!

That comic had some awesome stories! I read every issue til it got stupid. Came out a month or so before 'Swamp Thing' did if I recall.

Man Thing didn't talk or anything. The stories were driven by the intro characters and how they would do something stupid and Man Thing would wander into the story and fuck them up.

He was impervious to everything except dehydration but the minute some water hit him he was back at it.

I can't wait!

As for Halle Berry, sure she's got an Oscar and so does Anna Paquin and since they're on the upper part of the actor's totem pole they should expand their roles. No doubt about it. Although Wolverine is the big draw for the films so they should focus on him. Yet a bit of background on Storm would round things out just right. Bring in Colossus and Iceman and The Beast and The Angel and you've got the X Men!

Halle Berry should wait til this 'Catwoman' movie comes out. I saw the trailer and we laughed our asses off. It makes no sense whatsoever. Catwoman without Batman just ain't cuttin' it and that costume makes her look like 'Hello Kitty' with a fractured skull.

If it's a hit I'll be suprised but I doubt it.

Same here! Fantastic Four introduced big ass cosmic powered villains like Dr. Doom and Galactus.

Also the Silver Surfer.

The Silver Surfer is cool but it doesn't hold up without the FF intro from the 'Galactus Trilogy'.

It would take 3 Fantastic Four movies just to scratch the surface of their story.

But if they do it right and spin off a 'Silver Surfer' series you can watch out because the 'Silver Surfer' if done just right could be as big a hit as Spiderman.

Enema 07-05-2004 10:32 AM

They're going to have a hard time "wrapping up the trilogy" with all the hints at the Phoenix saga and Jean.

That story went on for weeks and weeks of the cartoon series.
