Counter scripts?

I'm looking for a counter script which can track unique visitors and referrers for freesites spread over multiple domains and hosts. Basically I want to see at a glance how much traffic each individual freesite is receiving and who's sending it.

With many hosted counter services fucking the surfer, some major linklists have banned java-script counters and I expect more will follow. I'd therefore prefer a system that does it's tracking via an invisible gif inserted into static HTML pages.

Click tracking would also be a bonus.

Do you know any scripts that can do this?

Or if you're a coder, what would you charge to write something?

for referrer tracking you will need to use js or php, so the script couldnt meet your specs. server stats can give you that info though

What I had in mind is a script that runs on fooserver.com. I then put site_name.gif on the warning page of sitename.com, another_sitename.gif on anothesitename.com, yet_another_sitename.gif on yetanothesitename.com, etc. All of these gifs would be served from fooserver.com. The script then looks at the fooserver.com access logs to deternine unique visitors and referrers for each of the freesites.

The referer would always be the site that the gif is called up from. You can't track referers unless you use something like java script or it's tracked right on your own server.
