Does anyone have a Digital Camera (not camcorder)
If so, what model and how would you rate it?
did you find something better after you bought it? TIA. |
i bought a webcam go, a basic digi-cam that USB's to the pc for file uploading and webcam use - not bad for £90 though setting up the focus is hit and miss. You can do little movies on it too.The new version (webcam go plus) has a built in mic rather than a separate.

I have a Epson PhotoPC 800. It rocks, good quality photos with compact flash cards (8 MB card included). Bought some weeks ago. I'll buy a 32 MB card this week. I love it !

I have the New Sony Mavica MVC CD1000
It burns the pics right to a miny cd in the camera. This mini cd fits it all cd roms and cd rw's for editing... It's a killer camers. Each cd holds 150 mb.. so depending on your settings it will hold a shit load of pics. It also will take 15-30 second mpeg's... The cost is about $1,300.00 well worth it. The little cd's cost like 3 bucks each.. ------------------ Smile and Be Happy Lightning Free Hosting |
Lightning, If I could buy that cam for $1300 here in Brazil I would. Here is like $2600+ on the stores, or $2000 in alternative places.

I would like a camera with ZIP DISK storage (iomega 100 MB or 250 MB).

We got a HP photosmart in like 97. Then last year went up to a Camedia 2000z last year. Both work very well altho the 2000z has more features. Would love to sell the HP and its in EC shape with 2 chips. 8 megs each I think.
Webcams? Have a ton of them. lmbo X-10s are great cheap as well as wireless. [This message has been edited by Gemini (edited 03-30-2001).] |
And Corpsie, I really love my cam. Sure it have better than mine, but with higher price, like the Epson PhotoPC 3000Z. $900 in US, about $1500 here I think.

Ok first yes. About every 6 months or even less a better camera is going to come along, but that's just something you deal with. The link that Jer just posted to dpreview is good. Also check http://www.dcresource.com Right now we've got a Kodak DC290 and a Nikon 990. Placed an order today for the Olympus E100RS - it's a one of a kind camera right now. Fastest on the market. If you want the very best quality and price isn't an option, go with the Olympus E10. But unless you're printing your photos, it's not necessary to buy something like that at all. If I had bought any other camera today other than the one I did it would have been the Canon G1 or maybe the Olympus 3040. Both are under $1000 and do great stuff. Hmmmmm . . . now even those cameras offer way more resolution than you really need if all you are doing is web photos. If that's what you want (and action shots aren't what you'll be taking) then there are a ton of cameras 2 megapixels or so that are really good and not expensive at all. Basically, stick with the good camera makers . . . you can't go wrong with Olympus, Nikon, Kodak. |
Thanks Dyanna, I knew this site (visited a lot to choose my cam) but couldn't remember the URL. http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/smile.gif
