I do quite often.. nothing like slipping away from the satanic household I live in for some quiet din din by myself....no dishes for me to do either.:thumbsup

I did, and it took the fuckers 20 minutes to take my order cause they ASSUMED i was waiting for someone else. BASTARDS!!!

6 yrs ago when i used to work in a dot com company they had me going from NY to CT all the time .

I used to do it all the time. Nothing wrong with it.

Yup, I do quite often.. it's kinda nice being able to enjoy some good food and not have to talk to someone while eating.

The only time I don't mind dining alone is at airport restaurants, since it's not unusual to fly alone. If I have to dine alone any other time I sit at the bar to eat.

I happens occasionally but it is not something I enjoy doing. If you have to eat and no one else is around, you have no choice.

All the time... I bring a book with me, and read. But I've noticed that I tend to get poor or slower service when I'm eating alone.

I do it sometimes. If there's no one around that I want to go with, I don't mind flying solo.

If it makes you feel more comfortable, sit at the bar.

i eat at mcdonalds by myself all the time

What exactly do you do while eating alone? Besides the eating part. I would get bored sitting there by myself without someone to enjoy the food with.

most people bring a book in with them and pretend to eat and read. Grow some balls, go in, get your food, sit down, eat, pay, and fucking leave. were all human, we need food, dont mask your need for nourishment by trying to cover it with intellectually thumbing a book as you stuff your face. :2 cents:

I do it a lot, I go to movies, basketball games, and footballs games a lot as well. Sometimes it's good to be able to go out and do something without having to entertain anyone else except yourself.

I usually eat and thats about it. I love eating out alone.

Sit at the bar and shoot the shit with the bartenders, sushi chefs or sit at a table with hot a waitress. :thumbsup

Thousands of times. Used to travel as a sales rep.

We're bar people anyway, so eat at the bar if just with my girl friend (we'd usually know other people at the bar). When you travel for work, it happens all the time. Nice to be by yourself, faster if you got things to do and does away listening to bullshit...

Often on work hours ... because I dont make myself lunch . I just go there order eat and leave ... on the phone most of the time :)

Some of us need the break, we are surrounded by people all the time. I have a hard time sitting down with my whole family for a meal. The kids start fighting the hubby yells at them.. I yell at hubby.. upset stomachs and full plates left at the table ..gets old. I love to go somewhere where no one will talk to me so I can stuff my face...doesnt even matter if i have shitty service..it better than chaos :thumbsup

i have never eaten alone at a resturant and i dont want to, i have eaten with my infant daughter, just me and her and that was weird, dont know why but it was

Never did it. I mostly take people with me.

Exactly sometimes people need their alone time even if it's in a public place if you get my drift.

I eat my Sirloin Gorgonzola in the bar area of my local steakhouse/sportsbar . I would have a problem sitting at a regular table in a restaurant though even though I've done it..

If you're somewhere like Denny's you can eat at a table by yourself..But if it's in a decent restaurant, eat it in the bar area.

for lunch at a fast food type restaurant i have no problem with it.

but dinner at a decent, and i'm not talking 5 star fancy, restaurant - i'm too self conscious, feels too awkward, not when you're eating, when you're waiting, i don't know where to look, i don't want to stare at other tables, don't wanna stare at the table top, where are you supposed to look if you're not by a window.

there's definitely nothing wrong with it - but i think alot of people aren't comfortable with it.

exactly...if you HAVE to eat alone,just sit at the bar and order a plate..

I do it from time to time. It doesn't make me feel uncomfortable, although i can see how it would make some people feel like that.

I remove all wonder by wearing my "I have a deformed penis" shirt when I go out to eat alone.

Nobody fucks with me.

I go to the airport bar even if I'm not going to fly. It's the only place you can drink at 6 am and no one looks at you funny.

I eat at home now but use 2 eat out 3 times per day.

I do all the time. I've even thought about putting together a website that reviews restaurants based on how well they treat the solo diner.
