Ginger is great for morning sickness, try giving her a ginger biscuit or a cup of ginger tea - it's even more effective if you take it to her in bed!

If she can't stomach the taste of ginger, try either dry toast with a cup of tea (not coffee!) or a dry, plain cookie.

If neither works - experiment, try to find a taste that will knock the edge off of the sickness, my sister was in hospital with chronic morning sickness that would not go away, the thing that cured her was half of a chicken pot noodle before she got out of bed!!!

When I was pregnant I didn't get sick first thing in the morning, more around mid-day, having a big breakfast early on stopped that.

Good luck and I hope you find something that works, just keep reminding yourselves it will only go on for a few more weeks.

So basicly just try to eat something in the morning? Will have to give that a try because she is rufusing to eat the mornings becuase her stomach bothers her

Pregant women are a pain in the butt lol

Try to get her to eat something really light or just a cup of ginger tea BEFORE she get's out of bed, that's the trick - if she really can't stomach anything at all then ginger beer or water should settle the stomach and keep her hydrated (de-hydration can be a really big problem with chronic morning sickness).

As for pregnant women being a pain, you just wait until the hormones kick in and she's insatiable :Graucho

Ginger ale saved me during pregnancy. But you have to look at the ingredients and see if it's naturally flavored. Alot of ginger ale's don't have real ginger in them. I didn't like ginger tea, but ginger ale was okay. And if she hates both, she can try ginger snaps, the cookies.

Also, it helps to keep some plain Saltine crackers beside the bed and eat 2 or 3 before she even sits up. That really eases morning sickness for the first few hours of the day.

I know this may sound silly, but my doc told me to eat a couple vanilla waffers in the morning, before I got out of bed. It really seemed to work! :)

When I was pregnant, I didn't have to go through morning sickness (thank goodness), but I did get a little queasy late in the pregnancy, which happens to some women around the 8th month or so. Give her a couple of soda crackers and some flat sprite or plain water, and make her stay laying in bed for a few minutes. That often helps.

Good luck. :)

2 tums antiacid, 10 saltine crackers, and big glass of cold water.

hahaha.. that stage comes in 18 years .

If she is a wimp, try squeezing a watermelon "seed" through your piss hole.. this will give you the sensation us women have when we are trying to push the whole fucking watermelon from our uterus.

ginger is great.. if you can stomach it. Usually morning sickness stops after a few months...patience and love is what you need..

AmeliaG 07-03-2004 12:42 PM

My mother swears by candied ginger and Saltines eaten before getting out of bed.

if a guy is a parent he will be the caretaker of his family. this includes being knowledgable about what it takes to get his wife out of bed when she has morning sickness.

the gals do vomit in the early months, and they need to replace fluids.

best cure from much experience:

2 tums antiacid (mint flavored best) 10 saltine crackers, big glass of cold water.

and if you want the complete all-day program, go to walgreens and get the elastic wrist bands that are normally sold for people with motion sickness---they have little buttons on them that put pressure on certain blood vessels in the wrist.

don't know why it works, but it helps with morning sickness.

Great advice. I've heard from a few friends (and from my mom) that ginger ale and crackers are the best!

Elli 07-03-2004 01:45 PM

So what you're saying is.. since I can't stand ginger, I really shouldn't bother getting pregnant.

:winkwink:
