What can we do about it? I see more and more discussion and instances of spyware hijacking ref codes and when you think about it, it's the perfect scheme. Install a trojan that jacks everyones ref code and replaces it with the crook's. The problem is the sponsor still get's their loot so who is going to be the first to step up and help protect the affiliates? Should I get my tinfoil hat out or is this becoming a real problem?

Stop promoting toolbars and activex programs. How do you think people like Media Tickets can pay $0.22 per install?

Guys are out there making bank off that bullshit though. It's fucked up when your industry is constantly exploring different ways to fuck you (the salesman) over. Guess it's that way in any sales game but jeez...

How for one stop opening threads about it and contribute in the existing threads.

i personally won't be promoting mediatickets anymore. they swear up and down they don't redirect but with all this shit going on, i just don't buy it.

As controversial as this may be, face it, spyware and exploits is where the money is.

One of the major players changed the script after I stopped promoting them to my non-foreign traffic. A couple of days later I caught that they had installed a homepage hijacker along with the search bar. There was no hijacker when they were getting the good traffic. . .
