Confessions of a Teenage Genie?

According to the latest issue of Empire magazine, Lindsay Lohan has been signed to play the lead in ?I Dream of Jeannie?, the big-screen adaptation of the ol? Barbara Eden/Larry Hagman series.

The 17 year old star of ?Mean Girls? and ?Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen? will indubitably play the character of Jeannie, a ?Genie? trapped in a bottle under it?s top is popped off (that?s the bottle kids) by a passing-by major.

Gurinder Chada (?Bend it Like Beckham?) is directing the flick, which Jessica Simpson and Keira Knightley were also reportedly interested in doing.

Next up, Lohan stars in ?Herbie : Fully Loaded?, Disney?s remake of the old ?Love Bug? movies ? sans Dean Jones. Angela Robinson directs the film, currently slated for an August 2005 starting lap.

Yeah you heard right ?I Dream of Jeannie?, we think she?s too darn young for the part too. How about having Diane Lane pop out of the trinket?

lindsey is hot. shes a yungun though. just cant see her in the genie roll.
