THis guy says Supreme Court Helps Pornographers Peddle Their Pictures.

The best part of this article at the end it has his email address. Lets help this asshole understand , first COPA happened tomorrow there is still 40 % of porn that is made other than the US and we have no want of children looking at porn there is no benefit to us . What about personal responsiblity on the behalf of the parents , using filters and parent controls. The net is a living thing its another version of the vcr baby sitter.

If you going to send him a email make it a intelllgent one.

Libertine 07-02-2004 08:29 AM

Why would anyone want to email some random guy who happens to disagree with porn?

tony286 07-02-2004 09:27 AM

I sent him a letter and he is not random he is large enough for google to send his article to me as it does all news articels that have adult and porngraphy in them.

Here is the letter :

Mr. Bell,

Yours has been one of many articles I have read on the court's decision on COPA. Since your article had an email address I thought to write you. All the articles start the same way Supreme Court lets smut peddlers show porn to our kids. I guess those type of titles make people want read it and no one would want to read a article that started with parents time for you to be responsible for your own child.
This is the assumption that COPA would stop this is so flawed, 40 % of all adult comes from other countries. You had spoke about thumbnails the biggest TGP is in the Netherlands not here, COPA would not make it go away. The problem is parents use the computer as a another version of the VCR it's not its a living thing. A digital world with good and bad parts just like the real world. Most wouldn?t let their 10 yr walk the streets of a big city by themselves but have no problem with the child having a internet connection in their room. I am in the adult online business, I want to protect children, I have listed my site with every filtering service on the net but that only works if parents care enough to put those filters on their childs computer to protect them. Just like you can set your cable box to not let your child look at certain channels. If they don?t do that do you blame the cable company for what the child watches? Its not the Government job to raise people?s children it?s their own. We live in a time where no one wants to take personal responsibility, its Mc Donald?s Fault or the Tobacco Company?s fault or the government?s fault. When really it?s our fault either we didn?t plan or we didn?t care or didn?t think about the results of our actions. If little Johnny is looking at adult pictures its not the adult webmasters fault it?s the parents fault for not paying enough attention in their childs life instead of if the childs quiet I'm happy. If a child were watching HBO's Real Sex would you blame HBO or the childs parents for not monitoring what their child is watching? If you really want to help your readers tell them to take responsibility for their children and take the internet connection out of the child?s bedroom put in it the family room where they can be monitored and put filters on the browser. A Google search will give the parent more information on how to filter the net for child consumption. The only problem with all of this is it requires the parent to be proactive and to do some work where most would rather complain and expect the Government to do it. At the end of the article in your brief bio it says you dropped your liberal ideology, well expecting the Government to raise your children and to increase Government spending for enforcement of COPA. Is a very liberal train of thought.

Sincerely

Tony
