227k bitches! How many miles does your car have?

I have a 1993 Nissan Altima and I'm the 2nd owner. A week ago I hit the 227k mark. I am planning on driving that car into the ground... and it has begun.

* My winshield got cracked this winter when it was -20 outside.
* My transmission fluid is leaking, no problem, just need a new gasket cover
* My brakes started to grind, no problem, just need some new break pads.
* The car sometimes smells funky, don't know what it is, who cares.
* Yesterday the starter died. It's sitting in the garage. I'll replace it this weekend probably.

Can any match or beat my mileage with a car you regularly drive or did drive?

Napolean 07-02-2004 08:07 AM

My 1990 Chevy Cavalier has over 725k :winkwink:

Sosa 07-02-2004 08:07 AM

Magg 07-02-2004 08:09 AM

$300 =)

I'll try to get a pic of the odometer, I'll see if Piksal is up to bringing his cam over later on :)

Tom_PMs 07-02-2004 08:29 AM

Bought my car brand new off the lot on 1996 with 7 miles on it. Now it has about 30k miles on it.

I drive about 2 to 4 miles a week these days :)
Last time I put gas in the car was last October, I'm still closer to F than to E :1orglaugh

nofx 07-02-2004 08:29 AM

188k on a 1996 camry

NinjaSteve 07-02-2004 08:32 AM

I think people in america want to drive a lot because you always see 1 person in the car most of the time. Driving low miles (like 4 per week) is pretty cool! Saving some money and you'll be able to sell your car for more later on.

Chris 07-02-2004 08:33 AM

just roled over to 67k miles last night

99 honda civic dx

angeleyes 07-02-2004 08:34 AM

Mines a 2003 but have 19000 miles on it. But in November it'll be 2 yrs old, so I'm under the par for mileage.

detroitiron 07-02-2004 01:01 PM

1980 benzoruneo definition of reliability, been in the family since new, more reliable than our camry, used to drive it all the time but the timing chain will probebly break next time i start it because its never been changed...what...yep never, so it started making noises like it wants to fail so we don't drive it, interference engine and all. Doesn't need a whole lot of work, minor dents and scratches, but good looking and comfortable as hell.

Peaches 07-02-2004 01:12 PM

I bought a 90 Nissan Maxima for my son when he turned 16. I bought it from my brother who had been the 2nd owner. When the transmission blew, it had 209K. I was pissed at the kid because I knew hadn't been taking care of it and wouldn't loan him the $$$ to get it fixed ($1500). In hindsight, I wish I had paid and kept it for myself - that was a great old car :)

I had a Ford Ranger with 174K but it had two engines during that time.

The Celica I got new when I turned 16 had 165K on it when I traded it in - and I never ONCE changed the oil in that thing. :winkwink:
