Ok, I got this annoying adware on my PC. I've run Spybot Search & Destroy, ad-aware, and virus checker.... nothing. I can't get rid of the popups. It even adds an icon to my desktop for some online casino. Most of the popups are for adult sites (go figure). Even if I go to a like like cnn.com, it will take over my browser and send me to a casino, etc.

$50 via paypal to the first person who tells me what it is and how to get rid of it.

download 'hijack this', run a scan and paste the results here so we can tell you which ones to delete

I used this No Spy X and it removed it.I tried all the others and they won't remove it permanantly.
Also I did this
Turn off your system restore.
You have to disable the active desktop, but it has to be done via the registry. That's the spyware porngraph uses.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer
Add a DWORD value called NoActiveDesktop and set the data to 1.
Restart, you're set.

Where can I get "hijack this"?

IMO save your 50 bucks and download the online auto-autodated version of mcafee virusscan and also their personal firewall software.

because it autoupdates like once a week you are on top of all new adwares and virus shit that comes out.

this combo is the only thing we've found to keep our machines running.

i think it's about $40/year subscription for both items.

if you do anything like check on your tgp submissions (if you own tgp sites) or do any heavy surfing or receive email you will receive trojans, sneak programs, virus stuff every single day---you won't believe it until you see how much mcafee catches.

and i'll say this.

there are a few asswipes right here on GFY who are posting links that are putting trojans on your machines.

and you guys don't know it.

luckily my mcafee catches it.

adaware and spybot do not always catch active x nasties....

it will have a pop up and want to scan your system.

It will also remove any active x spyware you are not set up to block. Takes about 30 seconds.

spybot can be set up to block most of the active x stuff as well....

let me know if this scanner caught anything.

Spend some time, know what you are doing and be very careful with HijackThis, it will show registry license keys and they can be easily deleted

Does the popup include deepanal.us and adultactioncam? I managed to finally kill the trojanby updating my definitions with Ad Aware. Only the newest version will kill it. I got the trojan from a link on GFY.

Whenever I get something nasty that adaware or spybot can't cure I check my running processes and google the file names till I find the bug and nix it.

Download adaware from lavasoft, then install it and go to settings > scanning > customize and highlight all options.

Then run hijackthis and if this doesnt help, get it done manually by downloading a registry editor

but ive got some horrible fucking spyware.
popups, redirects, everything.

spyware, spybot, adaware, norton AV 2004 pro, nothing will get rid of it.

now i think its got a dll loaded into my memory, im not sure..i looked in my processes earlier and found that rundll.exe was taking up most of my cpu and lagging me like crazy. i closed it and its running ok now.

but now ie keeps locking up left and right....had to install opera and i guess im going to have to keep this.:(

this is the best thing i ever used ! cleaned shit that i had more then 6 months and couldn't remove them with all the adaware spybot or anything else.
