i was being a nice guy yesterday, deceided to take my gf to a nice dinner downtown (chicago).. everything was going good, dinner was great, valet pulls my car around, we hop in, 2 blocks later at a red light theres some dude at my window pointing to a gun in his pants.. WHAT A NIGHT! fucker gets my car, my gf's purse and my braand new coat that i should have kept on instead of tossing in the back seat.. grrrrrrrr! and chicago police, man these guys are slow fuckers!!!! took us almost 3 hours to file the report

i used to always think that if i was ever in a carjacking situation, i'd just floor it and get away, but shit after it was actually happening all i could think about was "I DoNT wannaaa Die its JuSt A CAR!!!" Now i'm on hold for the insurance company, been atleast 15 minutes, with cheesy ass music and commercials, yep this is gonna be a great week!

I was bikejacked once, when I used bike. And my mom saw the bike with a guy some weeks later (with others wheels and stuff). She recognized the mothafucka (she knew where his mother lived), and told him : "or you gimme the original bike in 30 minutes or I'll call police and talk with your mom (he was like 19 yo)". 30 minutes later, there was my little bike http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/smile.gif That was on April 1st, I only believed in my mom when I saw the bike. Damn man, that really must've sucked. I guess that's one of the bad things about living in the city. You know, I'm just like you, I always think that if it happend to me, I'd just floor it, but like you say, when the guy is right in front of you with a gun, you think of your life being more important.

I live in a really small area. The closest city to me is Green Bay, which is 4 hours away and that's not even a big city, that tells you how small of an area I'm in, he he. I sometimes wish that I was in a big city, but then again, when you look at the crime and how fast paced it is, I think that I'm better off here in the slow lane, he he.

Good luck getting the matter taken care of. I get a kick outta all of those police shows that are on tv, they paint the cops as being smart as hell, that they don't miss a thing, when most of them are fucking morons.

That reminds me of something that happend to a friend of one of my wifey's friends. Her boyfriend KILLED HER and hung her up in the garage and said that it was suicide, acting all stupid. Well, the cops said that it was a suicide that there's nothing to investigate. The family pressed for an autopsy, well that stated that she didn't die from being hung that she was hit with a blunt object, that's what killed her. Her boyfriend said that the bump on her head happend when he cut her down, well, if she was dead, it wouldn't have made any marks, plus the autopsy said THAT was the reason that she died. Well, even with the autopsy results and the strangeness of the matter, the cops closed the case and refused to reopen it. If that happend on a tv cop show, they'd have it solved in no time at all, but the dumb asses up here are too fucking lazy to do anything. I'd like to see the cops in my town in the big city in shootouts and shit. The only action they get around here is pulling people over for speeding.

I know having things stolen from you suck, especially something as expensive as a car. But, you have insurance so other than the inconvenience, you'll probably get a new car out of it in the end. I'm sure you are more pissed about your jacket, you poor girlfriends purse (replacing all her ID, and anything else she had will be really irritating) and anything else you had in your car cuz that stuff you won't get back. Fucking thieves!

The important thing is you are alright. Sorry to hear of your bad (and scary) luck. I ride a bmw bike in the warmenr months and constantly fear riding through any city-like urban area at night. At least in a car you can lock the doors and floor it, if you think you can get away with it. On bike, well, no way. Nothing to stop the bullets except my back and head. Hmmm... No thanks.

Sad part is that I live 150 or so miles north of NYC and there are very few jackings of that nature up this way -- and I still fear them. Maybe I'm just paranoid or maybe I'm just being careful. Either way, I'm still not gonna' leave myself open to attack if I can help it.

When I totaled my car because some jack-ass stopped in the fast lane (he was on acid and thought he saw something LOL), I had the car taken to my house and beat the FUCK out of it with a bat! LOL I got more money for a broken windsheild and I fucked up the exhaust system (which got me another $800!!)

That sucks dude. I'm glad you're both ok though. I had a friend go through that awhile back and it was an ordeal to say the least.

On a side not, a friend of my brother's was trying to get his piece of shit car stolen so he could collect on the insurance. He left it unlocked, windows down, keys in the ignition, in the middle of Los Angeles. Nobody took it for a week. When someone finally did, they brought it back the next morning.

yea it was scary as fuck, i lost my BaBy! but atleast my girlie n me were safe. Insurance companies are bastards, i think i need to call the lawyer, because right now these insurance fuckers won't cover the cost of my rims or my stereo system, even though i told them about these add-ons and they said it wasnt a problem!! they won't cover the coat either, and i had my dolce&gabana steel ciggy holder my best freind gave me for my bday, in the coats pocket!! FUCKING BASTARDS!!!!!!!!! sorry just venting.. been on the phone all day cancelling her credit cards, had to go get copies of keys made (it sucks when they have 16 year old idiots working the key machine and having them fuck up 3 times before they get something right)

LazyEddie, reminds me of something that happened a few weeks ago. some dude cut some other dude off (or something) and one of the guys freaked out with a serious case of road rage. they pulled over and one guy got out (i don't remember who was who or who did what but) the other guy stayed in his care and floored it right over the other guy! there were tread marks over the guy's chest and legs!

so i guess that might have worked in a car-jacking, but it's hard to run a guy over when he's to your left and not in the front.

Wow....just thank god you and your girl are ok. Everything else, cancelling credit cards, etc, suck just as much, but you guys are safe and that's the important thing. You made the right choice to give it up and walk away clean. Good for you. Not worth the risk.

It's funny..i got my wallet stolen before, but it wasn't losing the money that pissed my off, even though i had like $600 in there. It was losing my drivers license.

I now carry a note in my wallet in case it ever gets stolen that says, "Take the money, the credit cards, and everything else...but PLEASE AT LEAST send me back my drivers license."

Why? Cause anyone who lives in LA would know that it's not getting something stolen that sucks, it waiting in line for 10 hours at the DMV to get a replacment ID or drivers license!

Dude, that SUCKS! Your run in with the Chicago police sounds about right though. I once had a break-in in my apartment while I was asleep. Imagine waking up to find some strange dude standing at the end of your bed! To make a long story short, called in the famous Chicago Police and they thought I was scamming them! Just because there was no sign of forced entry they didn't beleive me. Justice was served as the prick was caught a few weeks later and one of the things he pawned was my watch that was reported stolen. I got that back, but I never saw my 3 week old Sony Vaio again!

Ace check with your homeowners/renters insurance for the coat replacement (they might even cover more like your stereo etc)

Better to get your locks and all changed as fast as you can. The hubbies Mom was robbed years ago and they ended up shooting the guy that robbed her when he wandered in to their house with her keys. MrBrian, yeah, that's true, but the thing that's bad about it is that in the rare instances when something bad does happen, they don't know how the hell to handle it.

They found my car this morning about 45 minutes from the city.. well they sort of found it lol http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/frown.gif . They found it with no rims, no system, no airbags, the fuckers even took the chrome ball from the shifter, no coat, no cigs, even took my exhaust, cold air intake, the change for toll, floor mats (who the fuck would steal floor mats?!), no battery, no alarm (how do you steal an alarm?)the halogen lights, they tore open the glove compartment (even tho the key for the lock was on the keychain).. and these fucks didnt have the common courtesy to leave my car up on bricks, so basically they dropped it after taking the rims off each side damaging both axles. AND they took my playboy air freshner.. but hey my "baby" is found with the engine intact and not a scratch on the paint, lets see how much insurance is going to fork over to fix it up!!

Have you ever had to buy floor mats?? Those things are expensive!

The hubbys sister got her car brought back on a trailer in boxes stacked on top of her frame. Bad part is? The cops followed the car and watched it being dismantled in a chop shop while they waited on a warrant. Perk was they gave her 75% of what THEY called the value. The car was worth 10 times more tho.

My buddy had his car stolen when he ran into a White Hen convenience store to buy a pepsi. His car was found in another state and beat up. Funny aside, they found a rap music tape in the stereo.

The more I hear about you people in the USA the more i think that if I go live in your country, I'll neeed a Bunker as a house, a Sherman Tank as a car and Swat Gear if I have to go near a public school.

The reason that his post got any responses is that this DOESN'T happen all the time. I live in Kansas City, and I've never been carjacked, shot at, robbed, vandalized, raped, mugged, or even spit upon.

If you want to live in America, but you're worried about crime, here's a hint: Don't live in New York, Chicago, Detroit, DC, or LA!
