You & Your Significant Other!

How many of you and your significant other have things in common? Sports? Music? Social Life?

Rochard 07-01-2004 08:03 PM

I came home tonight to dinner on the table and two copies of Dave Matthew's Band "The Gorge" - One for her, and one for me... If not we'll fight over it.

Married life is goooood.

Guess you don't have to worry about any conflict in your relationship then huh?

MandyD 07-02-2004 01:55 AM

My ex-significant other and myself had nothing in common at all, but we still stuck it out for 11 years..... We both lost our identities and did everything we didn't like to do together :2 cents: Thus the ex - life goes on....

My GF of 4 years and I do things together daily, but we also have our own lives. We have common friends, common interests and we're best friends. Without her, life would pretty much suck.

Anna_O 07-02-2004 02:51 AM

We do lots of things together, but also have our own lives. Don't think it's good for a relationship to do EVERYTHING together...

I'm considering to hire my girl, then I can boss her around and not get bitchslapped... as I'd pay her to do my bidding. :)

Think twice, my friend! My partner and I got into this together, so it's a no-brainer...I've asked him to try and act as my boss (latent subbie tendencies, I guess) and it does NOT work (for us)...works out much better for us if we are independent. Of course it could be different for you, but...tread lightly! ;)

My husband is my best friend, but if we spent too much time together we'd kill each other. Retaining your own friends, interests, and social activities is the secret to a good relationship. You can't be velcro'd together 24/7 or you'll eventually lose your personal identity and resent your mate...the end :2 cents:

My woman rules! The only one of my passions that have not rubbed off on her so far is football. She's tried, but the rules are pretty confusing for those new to the game.

That, and I totally burned her on the pronounciation of a few players last names. She still punches me in the arm over that one :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh
