Oscar Night--Gladiator Sucks ASS
 

Except for the beginning, I though Gladiator sucked. It was pure formula and totally predictable. I was surprised to see that steriod abuse was rampant in Roman times. The end especially licked ass. That movie was like an airplane spiralling and slowly crashing.

It only deserved best soundtrack.

I saw it and thought it was good...but not Oscar material. The movie was way too predictable.

Not that ya give a fuck...but my choice would have been for Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. One of the best movies I've seen in a long time.

Yeah, Gladiator was good for about 15 minutes or so then it was a snoozer & too damn long in my book (okay, Dances With Wolves was long too but it was much better).

I haven't seen Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon but from the previews, it should have kicked ass. I think the Oscars are a bunch of butt kissers anyway.

The Oscars are lameass anyways, that's just like the Grammy's, they both mean a lot to have, but the people that pick who gets the awards don't know what the fuck they're talking about when they're picking good nominees from bad ones.

I'll wait for the MTV's versions come on to watch them instead, he he he.

I thought crouching tiger sucked too. You could see the wires holding them up. That just ruined it for me. That and the lameass story. Only the fight scenes were good, the rest was crap. I don't know why people love that crouching tiger it was a real stinker. That was just a bad kung fu movie with better special effects, except for all that Peter Pan shit.

All the nominees were pretty shitty so I guess there wasn't much to pick from for best picture. I'm glad I didn't waste my time watching those retarded awards and saw the highlights instead.

I didn't see enough movies this year to make a judgement. I wasn't too hot on Gladiator. I was happy the Grinch won a makeup award since a friend of mine worked on it. As much as I adore Susanah Hoffs, she shouldn't have done that song with Randy Newman.

And Julia Roberts forgot to thank Erin Brokovich herself! Oops.

I loved YoYoMa's performance. Best part of the show. Apart from Steve Martin that is. Hans Zimmer should have won though.

Hans Zimmer didn't win? That a fucking travesty! The only good thing about Gladiator was the killing and the music. I liked his music in The Thin Red Line. Looks like he's recycling it for Pearl Harbour though.

I hate Julia Roberts she's a total phony. She's so into herself she forgot to thank the real Erin Brockovich. ??? The movie was named Erin Brockovich for fuck's sakes. What the fuck is wrong with that bitch? I think Eric Roberts was a superior actor anyway. "My tumb chawlie...Deh cut off my tumb!"

Here at work, we get invites to all kinds of banquets, and private movie screenings. These invites, are sent just before it's time to vote, and usually the nominees schmooze you to get your vote.

Ridley Scott didn't get an oscar? GOOD! He shot everything too tight anyway. I felt like the whole time I was zoomed into the screen.

I had more sympathy for the Germanians at the beginning of the movie. They were outnumbered, knew they were going to lose, but still they showed up to stand their ground, and fight for what they believe in.

How could you have sympathy for an empire that just invades and destroys everyone around them. Reminds me of the Third Reich.

So you take an ultimate warrior, "try" to break his spirit, make him a slave, and put him in an arena to battle the very guys he trained to fight. Guess who's going to win?The movie was over before it started.

And Gemini, usually you and I see eye to eye, but Julia Roberts is too cute?!?! Are you fucking kidding me? Jaws dropped at the party I went to win she gave her speech. Who did she think whe was kidding? That was the worst speech ever. I can't remember a more phony speech.

She was trying way to hard to be cute, that it was sickening. "Oh, hi man with the stick...", "Where is Steve, Oh there you are , Hi...","put your stick down..."

You see Julia, you set the joke up first by mentioning the man with the stick, then you reference it for a laugh later in your, "on-the-spot" speech.
