Owning a dog, like smoking, is a sign of disrespect and inconsideration ..

Unless you live ina wilderness and are threatened by wolves, bears and Injuns .. a dog has no place in a neighborhood.

Unless you live in a ghetto (which is the same thing)

ace0r 07-01-2004 11:39 AM

ok

EviLGuY 07-01-2004 11:45 AM

How do you figure?

Sharpie 07-01-2004 11:59 AM

I may agree with large dogs & hunting dogs....... or people who let their animals run and don't really take care of them. But many types of dogs are house dogs and are very happy there....

I live in the country in Indiana, but in the city in Florida., and I installed one of those electronic fences. I wouldn't think of letting my cherished companiopn run loose.

laura 07-01-2004 12:00 PM

you're mean

pradaboy 07-01-2004 01:25 PM

You're assuming generally dogs that are kept as household pets - they are not wolves anymore. If you take a wolf and keep it in a house then yes, you aren't going to be able to take care of it how you need to.

Cheers,
Matt

So did you step in shit or did a barking dog keep you up all night?

Bs.

HughJardon 07-01-2004 01:30 PM

I got a neighbor from India would that qualify me?

The Bootyologist 07-01-2004 01:35 PM

a neighborhood is the ONLY place a dog should be. they are domesticated animals.

MinX 07-01-2004 01:38 PM

My dog is better behaved than me hehehehe:glugglug

CDSmith 07-01-2004 01:40 PM

I asked my dog this same question. He disagrees with you DJ. Nobody feeds him better than I do. Nobody makes him more comfortable than I do. (he's got a couch cushion in his doghouse for cryin out loud)
And he's got a nice park right across the street from us to run around in every day.
He's friendly and fun and loving as far as dogs go, but he'd defend me to the death.

More training is the key. Education, and more training.

HughJardon 07-01-2004 01:42 PM

i don't know next time i find that damn mutt shitting on my lawn

arial 07-01-2004 01:43 PM

If my dog were to be in the wild he would be eatten alive, he's tiny and won't get any bigger.

EviLGuY 07-01-2004 01:44 PM

My 2 dogs are extremely well behaved.. aside from a little barking (never at night) and are the best security system I could want. Who really wants to break into a house with 2x120 pound dogs? :)

Basic_man 07-01-2004 01:48 PM

so what'sup?

Spunky 07-01-2004 01:49 PM

Bullshit

wyldblyss 07-01-2004 01:51 PM

My Chihuahuas are very upset at your attitude. They don't go outside, except occasionally to go for a swim, they don't shit on any lawn, even ours (they are litter trained), they rarely bark and if they do it is so low no one can hear it outside the door.

I find dogs more pleasant than most people that I have met.

JSA Matt 07-01-2004 01:53 PM

Do you get dumber by the day?

mindoza 07-01-2004 01:56 PM

who owns who? After all i am the one picking up his shit after he goes..I feed him..bath him. HMMM

Cory W 07-01-2004 01:58 PM

I agree with you wholeheartedly. People have long aspired to fill our children's neighborhoods with polluted wetlands, radiation plants and cruise around in SUV's that fill the sky with smog; the dirty puppies are going to make our "people clean" world filthy. When will animals learn that people are the best thing that ever happened to our world?

WarChild 07-01-2004 01:58 PM

Dogs have been domesticated for 1000's of years. These aren't exactly wild dogs.

I almost forgot :)

My Pug, Chopper. He doesn't give a damn what anyone has to say, he is staying in Newport. :thumbsup

Fuck off. :321GFY

Pet owners have to license their animals, walk them on leashes at all times except for designated leash free areas & have to pick up the poop. How could that possibly cause a problem in cities? If anything we're boosting the economy. It's us dog lovers who spend $$$ at the Petmarts, groomers, doggy daycare etc.

My dogs wouldn't last 3 minutes in the wilderness.

I think small dogs may be the worse. The high-pitched yapping drives me nuts.

DirkG 07-01-2004 02:56 PM

If my English Bulldog were in the wild he would either
a: have a heart attack from all the running after things. Short bursts of speed are ok, but as a breed they cant sustain long activities.
b: drown if he found any water, since bulldogs cant swim. None of them, it was bred out of them.
c: Never reproduce. The only way bulldogs reproduce is with human help, and if he managed to breed, the female would die as no doctor would be around to preform the c-section that is needed. Puppies do not fit through the female birth canal due to their big shoulders and heads.

Reason C is why Bulldog pups cost over $1200
