So, i am driving through bumfuck Kentucky....
and we are on this old road somewhere between campbellsville and columbia, when we pass this little car dealer in the middle of no where....and low and behold there is a mint condition 1969 volkswagen beetle sitting out from with the for sale writing on it.
we get out and check it out, but the dealer was closed....so we head up the road to where we are heading and write the # down we give a call today and ask how much it is, and he says it is $2800 but he will let it go for $2000, which if anyone knows about this car you will know that a mint one is worth about $7000 we go down to check it out this afternoon and it has no rust, and some interior work that needs done that won't cost more than $400 to get it restored to original shape...engine has been recently redone, so that is nice....only a small piece of rust on the doorjam that isn't more than 1/8th inch high... the guy walks up and informs us that he is heading to a car auction, and taking it with him, and if we are considering to get it to let him know so he can keep it there and we can come down tomorrow to make the decision... well, long story short, we are now the proud parents of a bouncing baby bug.......born on Sept 19th, 1969 Sticker Price on lot: $2800 estimated worth at time of purchase: $3900 price of purchase: $2000 can I haggle or what? and yes, I have had 3 bugs before and know what the fuck I am doing when I am looking at them. pics coming soon.... |

My dad had one of those. One night he decided to take us kids out for ride, he had been drinking. My older brother and I argued, it was my turn to sit in the front seat, he wouldn't give in and sat in the front seat himself. On a lonely road out in the middle of nowhere I heard by brother yell "We are gonna hit" and the crash came and my brothers head went through the windshield. I still remember my sister, brother and father laying in a ditch, blood everywhere from my brother....and me, the youngest standing in the middle of the road screaming for help. When a car started coming up the road it didn't look like it was going to stop so I walked out in front of it to make it stop. The driver of the other car wasn't moving (alive but unconcious)
After that I must have passed out, I woke up in the hospital. My brothers face and neck were a mess. The doctors said that the slice in his neck went right to the very edge of the artery, nicked it but did not cut right through it. He would have bled to death by the time help arrive if it had cut it. I only weighed about 65 or 70 lbs at the time and they said that if I was the one sitting in the front seat I would have gone completely through the windshield and have died. My brother still carries the scars of that accident, and for some strange reason I still feel guilty about it. |
woah wyldblyss, that sucks!
