Mad Dow Disease

i lost my ass on tech stocks this week. that's what i get for postponing my portfolio diversification out of sheer laziness.

anyone else lose their nest egg? http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/wink.gif

Mikey 03-22-2001 10:12 PM

Lost my ass last year, not just in the drop in stock market, but was holding international stocks so I got what was left of my ass kicked by the stronger dollar - to add insult to injury.

Crutch 03-22-2001 10:13 PM

Lets not go there.. http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/wink.gif

longhair 03-23-2001 10:30 AM

Nope. http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/smile.gif Just hang in there. It'll come back. The only tech stock I have is Cisco. Other than that, Johnson and Johnson, Coca Cola, and General Electric.

AmateurAmber 03-23-2001 10:43 AM

right now is the time to go in and buy from what i understand. i'm going to get in on some GE. this is some scary scary shit, even scarier than making your living off people's mastubatory habits LOL. http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/biggrin.gif

sairanx 03-23-2001 10:51 AM

now it is time to buy companies which provide services and products which will be needed even when the economy slows down. try to avoid luxuary products and so called 'new economy' companies.

Fuck_it_all 03-23-2001 11:09 AM

why don't you want to go there??

sweetjimmy 03-23-2001 08:51 PM

take stock in the evil empire: GE, Disney, Microsoft, Viacom, AOL, and some cable company who i forgot the name of.

Those 6 companies control 80% of all media, newspapers, radio and television. They all work together and they have american politicians on a string like puppets.

longhair's pretty saavy with his stock picks.

Personally I'd wait a couple more months before buying tech stocks.

longhair 03-23-2001 08:55 PM

I agree with all but Disney. They've been having trouble getting any rise out their shares. I'm dying to buy some, but not until they're in better financial shape. Have to see how well California Adventure does first.

I'm a HUGE fan of Disney. http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/smile.gif

You people should have gotten out of the market a long time ago. What were you thinking when the market started to tank? I got out in October. I've had my money in Money Market accounts since then.

I still watch the stock funds that I was in, and I literally saved thousands by not being in the market.

"Buy and hold" is a thing of the past.

GET THE FUCK OUT WHILE YOU STILL HAVE MONEY!!

No one knows how low it will go, and still some of you are just hoping that it will bounce back. And even if it does, some of you will never make back what you lost. Get out.

Wait for the market to rise above it's 39 week average, then buy back into it, but not a day sooner.

If that means not buying in for a while, then so be it.

And why buy stocks when you can diversify more with funds? I'm strictly funds, and have done well in the past. I know you can make more with Stocks, but is the risk worth it? Your retirement money pissed away on Stamps.com (STMP)

The funny thing is that I actually know a guy that sank his money in Stamps.com. Dummy. Last week, they decided to liquidate the company. It's a beautiful chart at yahoo, a perfectly shaped ski slope.

And now for a shameful plug http://fabian.com/
This man saved me thousands!!!

sweetjimmy 03-24-2001 12:10 AM

longhair you watch too much cnbc.

MrBrian 03-24-2001 01:10 AM

i like winnie the pooh and the fox and the hound...but i worked at disney when i lived in lake beauna vista...needless to say i think disney sucks the big one.

longhair 03-24-2001 01:26 PM

Actually, I've never watched cnbc. http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/wink.gif

I don't agree with a lot of the ways they run the comapany now. They do a lot that Walt wouldn't have done, sequels for instance. I'm a fan of the art, the dream, and the creators.

sweetjimmy 03-24-2001 02:07 PM

it is pretty funny how so many people lost so much money on the nasdaq. Any moron could see how overvalued those stocks were. And now the bubble's burst and everyone's moaning. Too many bulls out there. People don't know that they can make money in a bear market as well. Sell high buy low.

cnbc is GE and disney is cbs right? Who owns Abc?

Shocker 03-24-2001 03:33 PM

A year and a half ago, my wife got upset at me because while we were eating cold, leftover oatmeal, her cousin's husband owned stock options worth $5 million at a internet startup.

Anyway, today that same guy has nothing left but a sad story to tell. As for me and the mrs?...we've moved up to fresh, warmed-up oatmeal. http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/smile.gif

Our goal for next year is to stop buying day-old bread.

tower397 03-25-2001 07:03 PM

dont do that

XM 03-26-2001 12:47 AM

American households lost 4 TRILLIONS USD in owned share value last year. Hope they saved some money for 1.99 trials http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/wink.gif

XM

Gemini 03-26-2001 02:23 AM
