I have had an Xterra since they released them in 2000

I would say my only complaint is the motor is a little small for the frame oif the vehicle, although the 2001+ models offer a larger optional motor.

I am constantly away on fishing trips in northern Quebec, I do a lot of trail and offroading, probably one of the best vehicles for this purpose, along with some of the Jeeps.

Fuel consumption is not so great but not horrible, highway driving is ok but not really amazing (small motor doesn't help)

I would probably buy another one if I had to, but I have a much better budget for the next truck so in reality I won't ;-)

I bought one the year they came out and it was perfect for the urban jungle and you can actually off road in it..so it should suit your family needs and hitting the beach.

I would hold out for the fall the 2005 additon is coming out.. they have added more metal and taken away some of the plastic. Supercharged, 6 speed, 4.4 Ltr. V6. So NO, it was not good on gas nor will it be good on gas.

NICE, the new ones kick ass, but after testing all the suv's and 4x4 trucks I ended up with a Chevy Sliverado 2500 HD 4x4 with a 350 engine. And this monster tears up anything. Oh an a 6in lift with 35's you cant go wrong.

Ar3s 06-29-2004 10:03 AM

family ;)

Madd 06-29-2004 10:05 AM

350Z sucks

Sifu 06-29-2004 10:07 AM

i do have a family, and what the hell does a 350z have to do with a truck?
