for desktop use, you should stick with Windows XP but Linux is better suited for server use.

funny, I need a "form" mail program for red hat so I can process online site forms. My old Mailmepro.exe was good for wind. only so Im kinda lost now. I have forms made just no way to process them through. I must be overlooking something simple (as usual)

Redhat is good, but if you get used to FreeBSD going back to Redhat is HELL!

pudcat 06-28-2004 07:30 PM

give Knoppix a try, run it from cd, if you like it then you can easily install to your hd.

It's based on debian which makes system maintenance nice and easy with apt-get

I've been using Linux on my desktop for the last couple of years, easily does everything I need, I started with redhat though pissed me off fairly quickly, am very happy with my knoppix/debian system.

Debian all the way:thumbsup, not as much support for it out there but apt-get rules!!!! It powers our cluster
