I have a question for people who live in Ohio!
Im aboutt o move to Cleveland, Ohio in a few days and I was wondering what the electric company was out there so I could call and get set up ahead of time. Alos, the internet companies too. I believe its cox cable or adelphia? Any info would be appreciated...thanks.

I do believe Cincy uses Dayton Power and Light
could be wrong but it serves the majority of that area of oHIo spaz |
I live in Dayton and obviously we would use DP&L. There is a few internet services you can get. I have Time Warner (runs through cable line), you can also get SBC (runs through phone line) . There is a lot more, you'll have to check them out. I would think they would be the same in Cleveland. Good luck with the move! :)

It was Edison when I lived there 8 years ago

thanks guys....ill check them out

In Cincinnati, we use Cinergy for power, and as for high speed internet, Local ones include Roadrunner, and Zoomtown (DSL). I never have heard of Cox.

Let me know what else you need! FF |
i'm from Warren ohio (near Youngstown), 45 mins south of cleveland. We have ohio edison, and for internet use Road Runner from Time Warner.
Welcome the northeastern ohio, where the sun ceases to exist 3/4 of the year, and the suicide rate is basically the highest in the US. Enjoy your stay my good friend. :thumbsup |
I was in Cleveland last week .
:-)) Having grown up there and having family home I had forgotten just how beautiful it is there- I have become desensitized by living out west I guess, but man everything was so lush and green! I stayed at the Glidden house on the campus of CWRU by University Circle and really enjoyed my stay- I highly recommend that hotel for travelers to Cleveland, my friend from High School, Tom Farinacci is their GM... http://www.gliddenhouse.com BTW I learned after some strange occurences in my room, I'd rather not go too far into it but the place is haunted! Built in 1920, it was a real trip staying in that old mansion! If you should go, say hi to IDA the ghost that roams around room 322.... |
I am from Akron but I moved a few years ago, my parents still live there if you need any questions answered... I think they use Ohio Edison too
Cleveland has the best music scene period |
I hear roadrunner owns, true?
|
WHY WOULD YOU EVER LIVE IN OHIO? Thats my question

I was a big part of that music scene for a lot of years working in the Flats at Peabody's Down Under, as well as the Belkin's and Empire Concert Club- back in the day
I also used to work with the guys from LEVERT and the O Jays as well as NIN- I remember Trent when he was a janitor... |

So its Ohio Edison for Electric in Cleveland? Is Cleveland really that bad of a place to live? We are moving to Lakewood....btw- does anyone know if the job market suck for young professionals?

anyway, job market *shrug*. just like any other place, market is somewhat weak but improving so i'd probably just wing it. there are many many places to work downtown and many smaller companies operating throughout the suburbs and offshoots of cleveland so i'm sure opportunities exist. Cleveland is improving, and if you like sports, Lebron is God here and there is a nice buzz around the city for our sports teams, a good atmosphere and great home games throughout the seasons, DogPound and tailgating during the football season is always a blast, the Cavs games last year were a nice time, Indians games in the spring and summer always make a good afternoon as well. Music scene is great as mentioned, a true starting point for some of the biggest names in the industry and the local shows are always outstanding, probably 10 decent venues in the immediate area for a wide variety of genre's. Flats are fun for bars, but getting a little dangerous recently, but E.6th is always a blast, and many vixens for the taking :) like i said, i don't mind living here, there ARE better places in the world, as there are no matter what, but cleveland has always been a good time.
