Farenheit 9/11 breaks records....Iraq handed over early...coincedence? I think not...

Iraq is handed over a day after Michael Moores Documentary/Op-ed shattered Documentary records by pulling in 20 plus million in 3 days showing in only 890 or so screens.

The plot thickens

HS-Trixxxia 06-28-2004 08:08 AM

Maybe I'm wrong, but I see it as a precautionary measure in case any attacks were planned for the 'scheduled day'.

kenny 06-28-2004 08:08 AM

It really shouldnt even be listed as a documentary.

As far as the rest goes.. well all one can do is speculate

And they shouldn't call the evening news "news" either.

KRL 06-28-2004 08:11 AM

Its a nice coincidence, but they did this to try and head off terrorist attacks that were planned to coincide with the handoff in 2 days.

Tom_PMs 06-28-2004 08:13 AM

My god, c'mon people, lmao :1orglaugh

coincidence? Yes. Exactly. :winkwink:

Moore does not inform people, he plays them like a violin

There is nothing wrong with that. It not my buisness or effects my agenda in any shape or form.

His "facts" are not the whole truth, and are extremely deceptive. It is VERY important that you actually research this stuff on your own.

Go see it for the entertainment value, not for the facts.

I dont consider it a "documentary"

Same thing with that "Bowling For Columbine" one.

I really dont care.. you guys can go watch "Matrix" and deciede to believe that.. I am just warning you:)

sixone 06-28-2004 08:54 AM

Reminds me of the effect that Super Size Me "didn't" have on McDonalds.

I am hardly a conspiracy theorist but when a movie attracts just under 3 million people it has to rattle some cages. Bush can not be happy. Whether this movie was right or wrong, propaganda or not....I enjoyed it.

3 million Dems and Swing votes.

sixone 06-28-2004 08:57 AM

What better way to capture the news?

What better way to say.....see we are making it a point to get the hell out of Iraq.

If you think the US Gov't makes foreign policy decisions based on a movie, you need your head examined........or a tin foil hat. Fuck you Moore-ites are just as dumb as Rush-heads for Limbaugh.

Baaaaaahhhhhh-bahhhhhhhhh you go.

Bansheelinks 06-28-2004 09:52 AM

And................I detest Bush just to let you know........but I also detest the pathologically lying Moore. He's full of shit. But on this one I am conflicted........I hate to see Moore do well as he exaggerates and lies but at the same time I hope it hurts Bush.....

but really, will it convince any of the 15% undecided coming into the next election? the effect will probably be almost negligable.

stevecore 06-28-2004 10:13 AM

I saw it last night, it was a packed theater. Took an extra half hour to get everyone in their seats but the wait was worth it.

Pornkings 06-28-2004 01:46 PM

We caught Saddam Hussan who was a threat to our country.

why cant we catch Bin Laddin who attacked our country?

public opinion = swayed by media (news, movies, print, etc)

public opinion = the tit politicians must suck on

I don't think it takes graduate level skills to figure out that lines can be drawn from point A to B to C

people are cows, you tell them something more than 3 times and they will start believing it's true...

education/learning is heavily influenced by repetition
