It was my experience in doing VOP hearings for five years that it was much harder to fight a VOP hearing than a new charge because they are not jury trials. Judges are not like juries where you just need one sympathetic ear to get a (well) hung jury verdict. Also your not automatically entitled to a bond on a VOP. although having money often leads to a fast tracked hearing on bond.

Yeah my aunt is a Probation Officer in Texas...it's not a good thing to go in front of the judge when you're being violated...judges tend to frown on that kind of stuff.

What was he on probation for in the first place? It says FEL (felony)after the charge.
