Mini DV tape player any know of ?
 
He4y guys that do videos here . Do you know of a place or a brand and model for one of these so i do not have to use the vid cam , where i live they all look at me like i am nutts to ask for this to buy . hope some one here can help out on this . i found one but fucking hell 5100.00 bucks :(

why not just use the camera? i just run my s-video cable from my camera right to the vcr or tv. you could try ebay though.

I've seen sony players go bad, we just sent 2 back for repairs after they were fixed less than a year ago.

Most economical idea is to buy a MiniDV camera for about $300 and use that as a player. Replacing it will cost about the same as repairs, and can serve as a backup camera.

Good point - for most uses that's the best solution.
But sometimes you need a real deck with better control than a cheap camera.

I don't remember where, but I once saw an item that had a mini-DV player and in the same unit had a DVD burner. You could simply put your mini DV in one side and burn it to DVD.

How cool is that?
