Pretty please Lens, I think he really thought whoever was on ICQ was messing with him. I know from personal experience he has helped a lot of people here including myself. Please reconsider.

I've seen it, and it sounded totally out of character for Lens (what little I have seen of his writing style). :(

Well, I read the logs closely, and either Alien has tampered with them, or Lens messages to Alien at 5:31 and 5:32 were not received by Alien for some reason, because those two ICQ messages should have been pretty damn convincing to anyone that they were dealing with Lensman.

sounded like Lensman to me . . . . nice, straight-forward in the beginning, and the iron fist when that did not work

lol yeah... he posted a lot for it and also gave away prizes.

But the problem is when you get banned it does let you log in but not post/view threads.

I agree. If it was such a problem initially it should not have been allowed. The only other possibility is that Rick doesn't want the contest to continue which would really be surprising as Rick has always been ethical as far as I know.

Ok, here's what happened (as near as I can tell)...

Alien was going hard in that thread, trying to ensure the win. Lensman ICQ's him, asking him to slow down, take it easy.... don't over do it. Of course, Alien figured that it couldn't possibly be the real Lensman icq'ing him, and sent him a few messages with some colourful adjectives.

Naturally, this didn't really fly with Lensman, and moments later, Alien couldn't log in anymore. Alien, still not believing that it was Lensman, and more likely Smokey, or someone like Smokey, asked KidCock to come and post on his behalf, asking if it truly was Lensman or if someone hacked his account.

KidCock kinda went over board in his thread about that situation, Lensman posted about how he was out of line bringing a private ICQ conversation to the board like that... and banned KidCock as well for it.

So no, I don't think he was banned for winning the race. I think he was banned for the choice words he decided to share with Lensman after Lensman asked him to slow it down a bit.

I dont know what the deal wit the contest is but i just picked up $25 after reading this thread. I beted someone that he would be banned. I feel sorry for the guy. I really never seen him post anything bad. Same thing with the other 2 guys no bad postings. I just know im stayin away from that thread :1orglaugh

Oh, I see... his other post. I think what he meant was that he didn't see Alien ever post anything bad, same with the other 2.... not that the other 2 had been banned as well.

Harsh... well then, guess Lensman did want to give them all a time out.

Who knows.... perhaps none of them would have been banned if Alien didn't react the way he did on ICQ... or perhaps they would. I have no idea.

Tampa toker was banned like 2 weeks ago and ozman 2 days after that. I know tampa toker he is my biz partner and ozman i have talked too a few times. alien i never talked to but he seemed like a cool guy. This contest has caused more trouble then anything:2 cents:
