Carson Freeman, 11, of Cohutta, Ga., tries to block rushing rain water from pouring into a storm drain and drowning a kitten trapped in the drain pipe in Dalton, Ga., Monday, June 21, 2004. While leaving her swim lesson, Freeman and several friends and family members heard the cat and tried to rescue it. After attempting to lure the cat out for over four hours, members of the Dalton Fire Department arrived and rescued the cat from the pipe by forcing it out with a fire hose. wow, I wonder if it actually would of worked by blocking the water with your hands

Pipecrew 06-27-2004 08:03 PM

cool, i wonder if that actually works, slows it down a bit, but doesnt redirect it.

Vitasoy 06-27-2004 08:06 PM

Wow, what a courageous girl. We need more people like that :thumbsup

zzgundamnzz 06-27-2004 08:09 PM

The sad thing is unless somebody either claims or adopts the cat. The fire dept. probably going to send it to the pound. If it doesn't get adopted it dies anyway...

emthree 06-27-2004 08:43 PM

Why the fuck didnt the retards help the girl? But then again it's the guys who snap first and help later that makes the media so intresting.

Napolean 06-27-2004 08:46 PM

so.. she blocks all that water from getting to the drain only to have them blast the car out with a firehose?

That sounds like a very gentle proceedure. :winkwink:
I've got respect for the girl though.

It would be nice to think that everyone would do the same.
But I bet some of you sick fucks would have setup a campfire and watch it die.

EZRhino 06-27-2004 09:56 PM

That's hardly the point. And sadly, the point can never be explained to someone who just doesn't grasp it for what it is on their own.

She was hardly risking her life you dolt, but at least she had the courage to try something. Cetainly finding a board or something or even lying sideways in front of the drain would have been more effective though.

It is ironic though that the way they finally rescued the cat was by using water to force it out.
