Are you for Kerry or against Bush?

I think it's been established that just about 99% of us here are going to vote for Kerry.

But are you FOR Kerry or against Bush (Just because there's no alternative you're voting for Kerry)?

The Truth Hurts 06-26-2004 05:53 PM

Fuck them both, a nobody showing up to vote will have more impact.

Trixie 06-26-2004 06:04 PM

I'm against Bush . . . and anybody who a) doesn't vote or b) throws his/her vote away on someone like Nader in a time of fucking crisis.

Vitasoy 06-26-2004 06:05 PM

Anyone but bush, please. Thank you.

calmlikeabomb 06-26-2004 06:15 PM

Look at his handle.. "Imlost". He seems to be lost and I don't think he'll ever find the right way!

I'm dead set against getting Bush back in office. I'd rather hire a chimp to take his place.

Scherfi 06-26-2004 07:02 PM

I'm for Bush..

What is Kerry's platform going to be this week?

First it was the economy but that seems to have back fired.

The guy is a loser and won't stand a chance against Bush come November.

Helix 06-26-2004 07:29 PM

We don't have a very good selection of candidates to choose from........again.
Too bad Colin Powell or somebody with his intelligence and integrity didn't run.

Kerry scares me, and Bush scares everybody.

jwerd 06-26-2004 08:26 PM

against bush, for damn fucking sure.

Tempest 06-26-2004 09:07 PM

In my experience, those that vote "for" someone typically just do it because they've always voted that way, they're too stupid or set in there ways to change, they don't want to actually think and evaluate the candidates/parties, they think all of them are the same and so vote for those closest to their point of view regardless of how well they'd do or have done. Those that actually think, pretend to, or just throw their hands up in disgust typically vote "against" someone. :2 cents:

As an aside. I saw a financial chart once in a bank showing the Canadian and US governments for the last 30 or so years and the recessions for each country. It was a real eye opener and made me wonder why anyone would ever vote republican.

KRL 06-26-2004 09:09 PM

They both have a few good things, but mostly negative attributes.

I really wish there was another choice. Its so absurd in a country this size we only get two choices. There are a lot more people better qualified to lead the country.

I have to go with Kerry only because there aren't other options.

that's what I think too..

USA has produced so many academics / smart ppl.. it's a shame to waste a presidency on Bush or Kerry.. :2 cents:

twistyneck 06-26-2004 09:52 PM

I'm voting against Bush with the hope that Kerry dies shortly after he is sworn in.

if my vote actually counted then maybe i would go vote for kerry. At least he wont screw us over as bad as bush would. I wonder what will happen in florida this time around :(

CamChicks 06-26-2004 10:33 PM

While the important thing is to get rid of the Bush admin, Kerry is not a bad option.

"I think that it's important to not have the church instructing politicians. That is an inappropriate crossing of the line in America."

"I will vigorously protect the separation of church and state. Diversity, freedom of choice and freedom of religion are among the defining characteristics of our nation. I believe we can be people of faith while respecting the principles that are enshrined in our Constitution."

""I believe in an America that is officially neither Catholic, Protestant nor Jewish -- where no public official either requests or accepts instructions on public policy from the Pope, the National Council of Churches or any other ecclesiastical source -- where no religious body seeks to impose its will directly or indirectly upon the general populace or the public acts of its officials"

"That is the kind of America in which I believe. And it represents the kind of Presidency in which I believe -- a great office that must neither be humbled by making it the instrument of any one religious group nor tarnished by arbitrarily withholding its occupancy from the members of any one religious group. I believe in a President whose religious views are his own private affair, neither imposed by him upon the nation or imposed by the nation upon him as a condition to holding that office."

"In my first hundred days, I will restore our commitment to civil rights and individual rights. And that will begin with the appointment of an Attorney General whose commitment to and understanding of the Constitution is as great as that of all Americans. An Attorney General who knows we can fight the war on terrorism without attacking America?s freedoms. An Attorney General whose name is not John Ashhahahahaha. If I am President, this government will protect individual rights not roll them back. We will protect equal rights, privacy rights, and a woman?s right to choose. And we will restore the constitutional foundation of this nation."
