I have to agree.... there wasnt one other car that could hold a candle to it. A true performance machine.

CamChicks 06-25-2004 05:04 PM

This was my first car. 1969 Buick Electra.
(not mine in pics - but same year/model/color)

The engine was held together with duct tape and rope and it had a wooden box under the hood with a plastic milk jug to feed the radiator.

BarneyRubble 06-25-2004 05:43 PM

nobody actually owns muscle cars here?

I expected to see "LIZARD" posted already (where you at Shemp?)

Anyways, here is me and my Sunday ride. Her name is Wanda (Barracuda - Fish called .....) She shares her namesake with the girl who de-flowered me.

http://finally-legal.us/car/my69.jpg

She's a 1969 Barracuda w/fishbowl rear window (very rare find these days except in Mopar graveyards).

The paint is Lazar Blue Metalflake, which turns plum depending on how the light hits it. The body and interior have been fully restored, and I am having a balanced and blueprinted (10 over) Hemi 440 built for her by my local pro shop that I am hoping will be ready before Labour Day.

Currently she has a 340 CID pushing 325 HP, but that will go up to over 400 HP with the new power plant.

It will be chipped and modded, but I am going to decide if I need/want an NOS shoebox in her while I am breaking in the new motor (my mechanic wants me to put at least 500mi on it before we even think about NOS.)

The greatest made was the '63 Corvette Split-Window. The rest of the muscle cars are equally beautiful...especially ones with 454s and deuce-4s.

Rochard 06-26-2004 11:29 PM

From 1964 on the Ford Mustang pretty much owned the 60's. Although the Corvette was out and was a sporty two seater, the Mustang was a 2+2 seater - and was priced for the masses.
