Lowes in NYC sent out 100,000 e-mails to New Yorks and got a great response.

They're keeping the theater open 24 hours a day to show the film.

One of the most disturbing parts from the previews I've seen is where Moore asks a Senator if he read the Patriot Act before signing it and the Senator admits do you thinks we really read all these bills we sign?

That's seriously fucked up.

I'd love to see the polls after this weekend.

Do you really think that the Pro Bush are going to see this movie? :1orglaugh

Michael Moore is preaching to the left. Only his own group will go watch the movie.

So it's not going to change anything, unfortunately.

It was fairly well publicized at the time that the Patriot Act was passed without any debate and without most having read it. The speed with which the legislation was introduced also made it apparent that it was not a response to 911, but something which had been ready and waiting for the right opportunity.

Even more f*cked up is that the Democrats made absolutely no attempt to oppose the bill. It passed 98-1 with Russ Feingold the only dissenting voice. John Kerry, who is now scoring points being critical of the war in Iraq, voted both for the war and for the Patriot Act.

With the media covering only one side of the story fr the last 4 years... it will be nice to hear the other side for a change :2 cents:

I saw the midnight showing, the guy actually says "Sit down son, let me tell you how we work.. we dont actually read the legislation, do you have any idea how bad it would slow down the process if we read everything?" then michael moore drives an ice cream truck around capital square and reads the patriot act to the senators.

I know...very exciting. My gf and I will be seeing it tonight, along with the masses (GWB haters and nonGWB haters alike). Free information, you know? It's a good thing.

yeah, the right wing media wouldn't have attacked a senator that voted against something named "the patriot act" right after 9/11. If it wasn't going to pass anyway most Dems would have voted against it.
