Good Digital camera for avg JOE?
 

What would you get?

I don't want a 2,000 Content shooter camera.

Just for taking pictures of my son. Beach trips ect.

Powershot A60 A70 A80

Anything from NIKON - I swear by 'em :thumbsup

Sony Cyber Shot 3 to 5mp :thumbsup

Can't go wrong with Sony Cyber shot 3.2 and up.

Powershot A70 is what I use, and most people have seen my sunset pics.

It's an awesome camera, not expensive at all and can be either very simple to use, or more complex with it's manual settings.

The versatiity is awesome. I can just take it and point and click away hundreds of pics, or I can really get into it and fiddle with it to take some great detailed or even night shots if I want.

It's my top choice for the average joe camera.

Is the Powershot A70 good for indoor photos, too ? I always gotta make pics when friends and family come together, so far using an Olympus 5050, but the picture quality is only good in daylight...and I don't want to carry around any extra flash or add-on stuff.

Its a good all arounder, just goto have a steady hand any fast movement will will screw ya every time.
