what designer does the best member areas?

what designer has lots of experience with member areas/templates that surfers find easy to use and appealing... maybe a designer with his/her own paysites?

we're thinking that a little more retention never hurts ;-)

I have my own paysite (it's being built). It has a custom script but it isn't quite finished yet and I don't know if my husband (the programmer) wants to sell it or not. But, Patti, if you'd like to see what we have so far, you can e-mail me and I'll show it to you. I think it looks good and it's very easy to navigate.

we're not looking for a script - just the layout itself.

the design won't make your members happy.. the content and the ussability will.
I'm not saying it has to be ugly but I think it can be very simple but with increased ussability.

also you need my games too if you want rettention to go skyrocket

Yeah, I kind of figured that, but I was just mentioning it because it's really the script that makes surfers find a members area appealing. (I mean as far as ease of navigation and such.) Most of the scripts we found just aren't flexible enough which is why we had to write our own. I mean, most of them were either too expensive or did not offer the navigation depth that we needed.

Once you have the script, though, it's really just a matter of designing a skin to match unless you're talking about building the members area from scratch. I've done that before, it just takes longer. I do know how to set up members areas for easy navigation and such, though, either way.

flashfreak - i've seen a couple sites improve their retention over 5% just by putting up a new member area.

MR2raymond - i'm only looking for people with lots of experience. i don't want someone who will give it a try, i want someone who really knows what they are doing in this exact area.

tootie - i am talking about the skin. as i keep fucking with our member index, i see retention go up and go down. someone with enough experience will know small things i don't know, and it won't be so much experiment as experience.

I have real experience. My last paysite had killer retention. I'd still have it if I hadn't had a problem with the domain.

You can e-mail me if you'd like to talk more about it.

Use ability is design. If homes were built the way most member areas are, the basement would be the first thing you see, the kitchen unreachable except through the bedroom and both bathrooms, the bedroom on six different floors.

As for the family dog, he would be in every room at once. Good design brings back the neglected art of pleasing members.
