I'm a huge fan of the Clie. My aunt has one and she loves it.

I had a Clie and took it back when it wouldn't let me listen to my own fucking songs saying I didn't have the copyright or some shit.

if your going to buy a UX-series Clie, don't get the UX40... get the UX50. the UX40 is a castrated version of the 50, and doesn't have any built-in wireless options; the UX50 has both wi-fi and bluetooth onboard, so is a muc more versatile device than then UX40.

be aware though, that Sony has permanently left the USA handheld market altogether as of a few weeks ago, so don't expect much in the way of updates or patches to the US/English units in the future..
...promise her a defamation, tell her where the rain will fall..

don't bother if you don't get the UX50... using their wireless card in your sole mem-stick slot on the UX40 will leave you w/ absolutely no expansion capabilities at all... you'll be stuck w/ the internal ram, which isn't enough. sales of the UX40 sucked across the board, and w/ good reason..
