So I bought the Zend Performance Suite....
And it fucking kicks ass!!!
I mean this bitch is bad ass! I went from my index page loading at 1.8 sec to .159-.5 sec. if you would like to see the proof: Optimized Pre-Op note: to see the time, look at the very last line on the page, you might even have to highlight the text to see it. And thanks again to everyone that helped me on my decision on to purchase this. Also, thanks to all the Zend guys, it's a product that does exactly what they said it would and then some. Jay D. |
I don't see the .159 seconds but it loads faster than the unoptimized page does for sure. I think some simple page caching is all you would have needed since you don't update the site that much. :glugglug

Ironic that you post this being that I'm debating buying a half dozen license for it today.

Optimised shit doesnt load for me at all.
Times out. IE6, cable modem in vancouver. pre-op (sounds tranny ish) loads fine, if a bit slow. |
The optimized page wont load for me either.
I'm on a cable connection with Brighthouse Newtworks. Using Mozilla browser. |

And I was wondering when someone was gonna catch the pre-op. :Graucho |
Optimized no loady here either.

To get a little faster you could host your images using THTTPD web server. Would speed apache up not having to handle the requests for images. Or even better license Zeus.
P.S. For those wanting a free PHP caching program. Try Turk MMcache, I have had great success. But Zend Performance Suite is definately a nice product. |

What are you doing that is affecting out of country surfers?
geo-targeting gone wrong? |
Quote:
|
No Geo, actually nothing of that nature. But if you have cookies turned off that might affect it. But then it doesn't make sense. Because those 2 pages are identical. I just copied the index page, and told the optimizer to run on the indexj.php to see the results.
Yeah, Cocoa Beach does suck. But then again so does West Palm Beach, but just not as bad. |

hmmm ... I'm in Canada, on a cable modem, and the "optimized version" doesn't load at all for me? The pre-op version works fine!

Mozilla browser cable modem the old page slams right in |
Ditto on optimized page no load w/ cablemodem, in Vegas, Mozilla. Looks like money down the drain to me.
|
I'll figure it out. That's why I didn't go live with it!

How funny, optimized page doesnt load at all. I rather have a slow page instead of paying for a page that doesnt work.

Opt doesn't load
Prepop is fine. Canada, ADSL Ultra High Speed, IE 6.0.2800 |

Optimized took forever to load... at least a minute before the page popped... Processing Time: 1.0316050 sec.
Old page popped and loaded right away Processing Time: 0.7929881 sec. IF i were a surfer... I woulda left way before your optimized page loaded. I'm on 3Mb cable from Charter.net from Nashville |

Thanks |
hm, I don't think it's a zend issue ..
can you put the page online without images ? |
Actually, I'm looking into a cookie issue right now. So I do not believe it is a Zend issue at all.

Btw, for the loading issue... it seems like you are using php session with sesion cookies, mine also failed becuase I'm also blocking session cookies by default.. |
I forgot to add, once I allow session cookies from your site, it loaded fine and fast!
You might want to enable GET method for sessions, so if there is a problem with ccokies it can take over. |
Processing Time: 2.2365890 sec.
Processing Time: 2.6687009 sec. |
Processing Time: 1.6944211 sec.
Processing Time: 2.5431001 sec. Los Angeles, CA | IE6 |
The speeds on the bottom had a faster time on the optimized, but it seemed to load slower overall than the unoptimized page. Strange.
Modem: Cable Location: Vegas |
Don't wanna bust your balls, but the optimized version is slower for me too.
I tried a couple of times. Most of 'm in the 2-2.5 second range for the unoptimized, and 2.9-3.5 for optimized. ADSL 2Mbit Yurop |
Sorry guys, I was out drinking downtown (where I work) and came back to the office to get my shit, hit the ole refresh and see some more relpies.
I actually had turned off the caching since my last post. Due to the fact that I am having an issue with cookies, and user management. So in other words there is no optimization going on. Also the site does require that cookies be enabled to enter. So I think it's time I make a cookies enabled page. I really thank everyone for looking at the site, and if you have any problems loading please post here. I WILL be at the bar for the next 5 hours (there's nothing like priorities huh?) so I will check the board in the morning or late afternoon. J |
