I hate spyware.

I have been spyware free for a LONG time now.
And suddenly, I get a fuckin porn pop up every couple of mins.
WTF
Ran adaware and search and destroy and i cant get rid of it, running panda activescan atm, it has gone through 130,000 files so far and has fround 16 problems.. but its bout 20% done...

Are there any browsers that prevent this bullshit? Netscape or the others?

Go for Mozilla - http://www.mozilla.org
It's great, and as far as I know it will not give you any problems...
Iv'e been using it for about a year now, exactly for the reason above :thumbsup

I use IE6 (patched of course) with security settings on maximum high for all but sites that I manually add to the list of Trusted Sites. This eliminates 99% of the known vulnerabilities, especially those fucking ActiveX security holes that you can fly a fucking 747 through. And then Ad-Watch set to start at start-up helps too (so nothing changes that fucking registry without my say-so), and regular Ad-Aware scans and updates too.

Don't rely on Ad-Aware solely - it won't work on the new and nasty stuff that is out there - you've got to block the shit at the source.

The downside of having ActiveX and other browser features completely disabled is I don't get to see the videos most of you guys post, and a lot of other stuff on the net that is on sites that I don't completely trust. But it's better than letting some asshole fuck up my machine.

ps. There is a RealPlayer vulnerability you should make sure you have patched too - it allows malware to be installed unknowingly. Click 'Updates' under 'Tools' in RealPlayer.

The day will come when the net will be empty because of all this shit.......I would never be online if I wasn't selling porn :2 cents:

The scumbags that pull this shit need to be stopped.

Spyware is fucked. I get that shit all the time and i can never work out how. I had a really bad case of it once before and couldn't defeat it. I think the best you can do is run a removal program every now and then to keep it under control. Everyone has their way of getting rid of it, recommended program or combination but nothing worked for me. The only sure fix is a format. :ak47:

....Stick to the smaller browsers......hackers/exploiters will always target the most commonly used browser.

Bansheelinks 06-24-2004 05:09 AM
