Nine million to throw a sickie after England game
yay for self-employment
-- Nine million to throw a sickie after England game Bookies are predicting that nine million people will throw a sickie on the day after England's Euro 2004 quarter final. Sporting Index have opened up books on how many England fans will pretend to be sick to get a day off after the crucial match with Portugal. They have set a spread based on a prediction that more than nine million people will be taking an unofficial day off this Friday, June 25. They came up with the figure after commissioning Football Fans Census to consult 25,000 fans on their post match intentions. Sporting Index, which specialises in spread betting, is predicting that between 8.8 million and 9.2 million will take the day off sick. Punters will win if they bet that either a greater or smaller number will fail to turn in after spending the night celebrating or drowing their sorrows. http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_998184.html |
