Car sound systems? (pics of mine)

I love music, more specifically I love loud music. :)

I have in my car :
2 x 12" bass in the boot
2 x 8" in the doors
4 x 5" in the back and front.
4 x tweeters

..and of course amplifiers to keep the bitch singing. :)

...and no, I don't listen to techno. Hardcore rock (anything with double bass drums) sounds SO good on on my system it's not even funny.

Oh yeah.. the pictures..

I showed you mine, now show me yours.:glugglug

TweetyBird 06-23-2004 07:19 AM

Renault Clio, 1.2 liter. :)
I don't need a fast car, I barely drive it.
As long as it's comfortable and sounds good. :)

Hell no, god that's an ugly car.

MaDalton 06-23-2004 07:28 AM

I like sound produced by the car - not by the sound system.

What sound. :1orglaugh
I live in europe, we can't afford to drive big-ass cars with huge engines and pay over $5/gallon of gas... and my exhaust isn't broken.

1.2 liter engine doesn't rumble much.

Scherfi 06-23-2004 07:33 AM

1.2 liters is rumble in the jungle

Nice ones.
I wanted a subtle one, so I can still put stuff in the trunk if need be. I could have gone overboard with paintjobs and fiberglass, as a very talented guy did the stuff for me. He made the door panels from fiberglass and painted them to match the color of the car etc.. he also wanted to make my boot look nicer, but I insisted that the work should be clean and keep the boot usable. He succeeded imho.

I think mine isn't too wild, and I'm happy about that. It's not a showcar. :)

so do I - and my car needs 13 l/100 km - but it's worth it. And I don't need a broken exhaust for a good sound. :winkwink:

I have stereos at home, you know...

I don't need a beefy car.. but when I do drive, I like to listen to music.. since I'm stuck in traffic most of the time anyways.

TurboTrucker 06-23-2004 02:16 PM

it's strange how people in US don't get the advantage of cars with small engines.. For us who live in cities and drive in traffic jams more than open roads, smaller cars are great..
I used to have an Audi 200, big car what spent alot of gas, it was comfy and great but too big for narrow streets and hard to park downtown. Now I have a VW Corrado (relatively small, but its 1.8L 160hp engine is more than enough for its weight and driving in town). I'm now considering selling it and getting a Mk4 golf or Audi A3 - DIESEL. Cheaper fuel, spends even less. (again, we have one european opinion here, don't flame me :))

What I just said doesn't fit people who travel very long distances and need bigger cars etc, I completely understand this.

My opinion on car sound systems - it should just cover the regular driving noise, but still allow you to hear the ambulance/police sirens etc.. Some guys here drive with music blasting so loud that I wonder if they'd even notice if their engine fell out of the engine bay :)

I had a 96 and I have a 2002 now but shit I like space behind my seat , I guess I got out of the system thing. Just got old to me. I like a good clear system that can rock but not blow my windows out. But anyway that was a nice set up-:thumbsup
