Terror acts reached 21-year high in '03, official report says
Acts of terror worldwide reached a 21-year high in 2003, the State Department said yesterday as it corrected a mistaken report that had been cited in President Bush's war on terrorism.
Incidents of terrorism increased slightly during the year, and the number of people wounded rose dramatically, the department said. J. Cofer Black, who heads the department's counterterrorism office, said that the report, even as revised, showed "we have made significant progress" in the campaign against international terrorism. The corrected report shows that the Bush administration is "playing fast and loose with the truth when it comes to the war on terror," said Phil Singer, a spokesman for Sen. John Kerry's presidential campaign. The administration "has now been caught trying to inflate its success on terrorism," he said. Bush is a fucking liar... lots of mistakes in the reports... |

It's really easy to manipulate statistics on terrorism when you claim that parking violations, refusing to subject yourself to illegal search and seizure, and writing checks for over $10,000 are acts of terror.
|
Apparently the original claims, intended to show how GW was saving the world, were based on stats which conveniently left out November and December.
I picked up the corrections on morning TV last Thursday or Friday, but of course they didn't get as much air-time as the original claims. http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/06/10/pow...ror.report.ap/ |
I think the current Republican administration not only fakes its stats, but also shaves from its webmasters.:1orglaugh

I guess were blaming bush for the palestinian suicide bombers in israel now?

I apologize for GW every day to foreign clients. It would be nice to start a conversation with a hello instead of "On behalf of all Americans, I apologize for..."

" International acts of terror in 2003 were the fewest in more than 30 years " http://www.indystar.com/articles/5/157136-3605-010.html " Significant acts of terror worldwide reached a 21-year high in 2003 " Has Mansion Production (MPA2) written the State Departments stats software? :winkwink: |

you children need to pay more attention to your jobs and less to politics since you clearly understand nothing beyond "I hate Bush"
Yes children, Bush wrote the report himself, at his desk, late at night, so he could lie about things. :1orglaugh morons |

This stuff is being spluttered out by the US government. The problem is this current admin has no credibility.
There are plenty stats by reputable organizations produced each year and hit on the areas of that obsessive topic "terrorism". There have been relatively few acts of "terrorism" prior to 2002/2003 and no more or less of an increase in decades. The highlight has been placed on this since 9/11, presumably because it was the US's first real attack and the scale/method of implementation. There are not many "real" reports covering terrorism released yet for 2003, but by the 2002 figures this has started to rise thanks mainly to the kindness of the US government in aiding the recruiting campaigns of groups interested in promoting violence and the current administrations behavior in promoting hatred of the US. I'm amazed people are still expecting some truths out of this current admin when they have already persistantly lied time and time again and have been proven to have lied - (tho they will never admit that!) |

nono.. I think the original stats were right, they just might have figured the ones they committed didn't count. |

BTW When are we going to see *any* figures on these??? Also, how about publishing, in addition to US forces killed, the stats on the many more 1000's of people killed/maimed, - the majority of whom are totally innocent, - as a result of "Bush's war"? Mmm.. what was this all for again? Ah yes, it was WMD and that nasty little asshole Saddam. Seems a high price for no WMD and to capture a scumbag, - just one of many on this planet. |
