Vancouver L33T: It's Wild Wasserbahn time!
 

That's right, I'm planning a Playland day on Sunday July 18th. I'm thinking about getting there around 2pm, doing the whole park as quickly as humanly possible, then doing the wooden rollercoaster about 4 more times, then playing some mini golf, then maybe trucking everyone somewhere for dinner.

Day passes are cheapest at Safeway at $21.95 each.

sounds interesting, I have a lot of things going on in July, but I should be free in around that time, so I should be able to make it.

Although, I'm not used to the whole "outdoors" thing. I hope I don't melt.

BTW, I used to work at the "spot game" on the boardwalk in Wildwood, NJ and know how to win the biggest stuffed animal you can win at any of the games, so if you or someone wants it if I come, my pleasure.

NOTHING however beats the Wild Mouse. A rollercoast is just that much scarier if you know that people die on it on a yearly basis!

That and the ferris wheel are the only rides I will NOT go on. Too damn freaky. I like living, thanks. :)

Exaggeration, but there have been several accidents and deaths over the last 20 years, both on this one and the one in Toronto.

Oh no. My absolute favorite thing about events in the summer. All the big concerts have them, and of course they're standard fare at the PNE.

Everyone knows Vancouver is an amazing and possibly the best city in the world to live...but seriously, the area outside the city is very special if you haven't planned a summer vacation yet. If anyone is even mildly interested in outdoor recreation and rugged nature - I challenge anyone to show me anywhere that can approximate what BC offers so close to Vancouver. Surprised more Americans living in cities don't flock here to experience the best nature can come up with.

Hell, just walking through Stanley Park does it for me. Can never accept the fact that there are hundreds of acres of old growth forest within 5 minutes of the downtown core.
