Hard drive question fast reply please
 
I got a new one today i installed it and bios found it got in to windows xp it found it to and installed it and i made a reboot but the computer does not show it still what do i need to do?

do i need to give it a name somehow like f: or something and how do i do that???

help fast please

start/help

type in disk management.

Click the link it gives you in there, to open up the disk management tool.

Right click on the harddrive, format, and select the proper letter

check all your drives in my computer it might show as unformated or a lower drive letter "below" your cd rom. ie your cd rom may have been f: but now is g:. check your primary drives first d:,e: etc see if one shows unformatted

Ok i did it all

is it suppouse to format the new one???

and i cant get in to it until its done or?

and the other harddrive i got is system ntsf
will the new one be the same after the format or?

taking forever to format 160 gig of new drive wtf

Did you check the jumpers, you will need to set it to slave.
