Personally I don't know of, nor met any honest politicians. They all tell you what you want to hear. Like Kerry, he is going to side with whatever is going to get him the most votes. He cannot have a firm stand on anything and it is going to hurt him when it comes time to start counting votes.

Seems like a good book to read , I'm gonna pick it up when i have some time this week:)

I cant say I will go out and buy it or stand in line at midnight at bookstores to have him sign it.

I heard a review last night he takes a few pot shots at Kenneth Star and his posse in the book. He also is very defensive in it, trying to explain why he did what he did while in office. It has more international politics than domestic, which is surprising.

His explaination of the affair with Monica, "because I could" he admits that he failed in that respect as a husband etc.

Apparently the title has an extra "F" in it :)

Yep, it is. You have to be somewhat interested in politics to really enjoy it. I read it while sitting on the toilet this morning and it was so good I sat there long enough that my legs fell asleep. :thumbsup

It's amazing just how well this book is selling.

i will buy the book because he is the closest black president we will ever have.He likes to smoke weed, he plays the saxaphone and he likes fat white women.

agree with his politics or not, think he was as good president or not - he is not an idiot. Now, the question is if you think he used his considerable brain power for good or bad.

He's far from an idiot. Clinton was one of the most intelligent, well read Presidents this country has ever had. However, he made some major errors in judgement regarding his personal life that the far right pounced on.

Why wouldn't he deserve to make money from his memoirs? If people want to pay money for it, he deserves the money, IMO.

My husband bought a copy today, along to a ticket to a book signing in the next week or so. We probably would have bought it eventually, but probably much later if we weren't going to the signing.

Nothing more funny than Clinton haters. I've only read about 200 pages but so far it's a damn good book. Personally I can't wait to read Bush's autobiography. :1orglaugh

I tried to get the book today but it was sold out everywhere here. I got my name on the list for the next shipment though, so I should have it soon.

I'd help get extra copies if I could, but they're really tight about it. You have to pre-purchase the book and a ticket to the signing. You have to bring the book, ticket and receipt to the signing and only one person per book/ticket. No personalization and he's just signing his name too.

Seems like Bill has a little trouble remembering dates or he likes lying to the grand jury.

In his new memoir, former U.S. President Bill Clinton says his "inappropriate" encounters with Monica Lewinsky began when she claimed they did, during the government shutdown in November 1995.

That account contradicts his August 1998 testimony before a federal grand jury that investigated the case.

The discrepancy between testimony by Clinton and Lewinsky about the timing of the affair was one of the points that led the House to impeach Clinton for providing false testimony to the grand jury about "the nature and details of his relationship with a subordinate government employee."

In his 1998 testimony, the former president said, "When I was alone with Ms. Lewinsky on certain occasions in early 1996 and once in early 1997, I engaged in conduct that was wrong."

That timeline would have put the start of the affair after Lewinsky had completed her White House internship and had taken a staff job.

But on page 773 of his book, "My Life," Clinton said, "During the government shutdown in late 1995, when very few people were allowed to come to work in the White House and those who were there were working late, I'd had an inappropriate encounter with Monica Lewinsky and would do so again on other occasions between November and April, when she left the White House for the Pentagon."

my gradfather was a PA state delegate and politican and was a friend of the Carter family. So, I grew up with a great deal of respect for Jimmy Carter as a person. The general line taken was that he was too good a man to be president and I go for that.

I'll read it. Haven't picked it up yet.
