It will take some time to install but it:

Kills popups, unless you approve each cab or site/domain
Kills active X
and kills so much more!!!!

Theo 06-22-2004 06:59 AM

does it kill terrorists yet?

Maerklin 06-22-2004 07:00 AM

Lol NO BUT SPYWARE! Just a good;)

Rick Latona 06-22-2004 07:01 AM

That's good news for all of us that aren't in the spyware business. Kick ass.

More Booze 06-22-2004 07:05 AM

I think people will click more when they know they wont get any popups :)

pussyluver 06-22-2004 07:14 AM

There are a ton of popup killers for free now. Not sure this will add to your hit count???? Porn surfers know about the popup tools.

Here's a big question. Will you install it if you run a TGP. If the popups are killed, you won't see them when you review galleries. Some might say, my script checks for popups. How far does it go though? Do you check your sponsor links etc. If a sponsor has a zillion popups/exitpages, they don't make it on my TGPs. Well I try anyway.

The biggest feature I see is the download prompt if a file tries to coime through the browser. That'll put a big dent in the drive-by download assholes.

FreeHugeMovies 06-22-2004 07:20 AM

Fuck all those spyware fuck tards.

Maerklin 06-22-2004 07:24 AM

To install it, is to truely experience how much you will need to change the way you do things

it also puts a big dent in windows update since that also uses an activex prompt. dialers also use activex prompts. has anyone with sp2 tried to update thier windows or download a dialer as a "customer?" i have and it don't work!

Odie 06-22-2004 07:43 AM

interesting stuff...I learn more here everyday than anywhere else!!!lol:winkwink:

DarkJedi 06-22-2004 07:48 AM

i think its good news.
surfers will learn to trust porn site a bit more when all the shit goes away.

ofcourse if coders dont find new holes.

A quote from the info page:

Memory protection. Some attacks by malicious software leverage software security vulnerabilities that allow too much data to be copied into areas of the computer?s memory. These vulnerabilities are typically referred to as buffer overruns. Although no single technique can completely eliminate this type of vulnerability, Microsoft is employing a number of security technologies to mitigate these attacks from different angles. First, core Windows components have been recompiled with the most recent version of our compiler technology, which provides added protection against buffer overruns. Additionally, Microsoft is working with microprocessor companies to help Windows support hardware-enforced data execution prevention (DEP) on microprocessors that contain the feature. Data execution prevention uses the CPU to mark all memory locations in an application as non-executable, unless the location explicitly contains executable code. This way, when an attacking worm or virus inserts program code into a portion of memory marked for data only, an application or Windows component will not run it.

OS/2 had this in 1989..... Linux has always had it.

Good Grief Bill, where have you been????

Maerklin 06-22-2004 07:58 AM

Dialers will work, but need to change their technology, we already have 2 months ago. People still need a way to make YOU money when they dont have a credit card. The hardest things for dialers (US) is all the shady dialer out there... Check us out:thumbsup

bump for an interesting thread.... :thumbsup

ZanyCash Larry 06-22-2004 01:28 PM

I believe they're still testing it.

Michaelious 06-22-2004 01:29 PM

it does sound the bomb

Shoplifter 06-22-2004 01:37 PM

just have to wait its official... my PC crashed over the weekend and i don't want another seatback.

And besides, the technical preview is unsupported and is intended for testing purposes only. Not yet intended for production environments.

KRL 06-23-2004 10:39 AM

Always better to wait till they get all the kinks out of it. You could really mess up your system installing a beta operating system upgrade.

Maerklin 06-23-2004 10:40 AM

I dont think this is about the difference between beta and final release software, rather its about what you have to do different to keep making money

Rich 06-23-2004 11:15 AM

No more spyware? Somewhere I hear a republican with a handle bar mustache crying his little eyes out. Time for 12dicks to increase the shave I guess, didn't know that was possible.
