Your Mother, blatantly gets RIPPED OFF..would would do?
2 weeks ago, my 70 year old widowed mother took her car, a 2002 Kia for the scheduled maintenance check at the local dealership. (included and free due to her plan)
She was told that the fuel injection system was not working properly and need to be changed. She was charged $643.40! Yesterday she received a letter from Hyundai/Kia headquarters with an emergency recall on the same model car stating a "defective fuel injection system" and the there would be no charge for the emergency service. I did not find out about this 'till late last night. How would you handle the confrontation? |
Get the money back. Period. She's ripped off.

1 call to Kia headquarters will initiate the refund from the dealer, if in fact the exact repair she recieved is the one sent out by Kia as a recall bulletin. At Ford anyway was how it was handled when I worked there years and years ago.

Thanks for the feed back, I hope I calm down ...for I feel like doing a postal. |
i think you're jumping the gun. they noticed it was bad and replaced it before they knew it was a recall. go in there and explain the situation and ask for a refund first. if that doesnt work then you have the right to do what you want. they are more likely to be nice to you if you're nice to them.

I was gonna post what beemk posted but I thought it was too painfully obvious. Choose your battles. Only fight when you have to. |

The total charge of $643.40 are being credited to her account. The recall notice sent to us, dated June 18 was sent to the dealerships on June 8th. Therefore they KNEW about the problem yet charged her not knowing that 400,000 cars were going to be recalled. NOW SHUT THE FUCK UP! http://www.consumeraffairs.com/recal...undia_kia.html |
go get the cash back

run in their, dive through the plate glass windows on the garage bay doors twin 9mm pistols blazing john woo style, doves will fly somewhere in the distance, the camera will pan exterior as the battle rages inside the bay, bullets spark off acetalene tanks in the distance, a huge eplosion rips through 2 mechanics trying to make a run for it....
oh wait....forgot to take my prozac. I mean, sounds like contacting the dealership in a professional manner would work out much better. |
Crap in a paper bag and set it on fire outside their door. When they go to step on it to put it out your crap will get on their shoe.
